Re: Mating parts and tolerances

Hi Joe - I use the scaling tool but haven't seen the offset option. I am learning to use the software. I'll try the method you use and test as well. Thanks so much for your input. This is almost exactly the joint I designed for my desks. Did you do a "copy and resize" or an "offset"? The results are...

Re: Mating parts and tolerances

Hi Adrian

Thanks for the reply. I use the scaling tool but resize using the mm option not the percentage option. I will definitely try via trial and error with different woods. Thanks so much for the assistance - will post what my results are like.

What i am trying to find out is how to make them mate together (press fit and glue) so that the friction fit is good and joints are not loose - they have a clean join. I have radiused the corners of the...

Re: Cut2d cutting above workpiece

Roger that - Sorry it's the openbuilds pp and cut in openbuilds software. I use a workbee cnc with arduino uno controller. Perhaps the standard grbl processor is better. Thanks for taking the time to reply to me!

Re: Cut2d cutting above workpiece

Hi, yes cut depth is set to 10 - I run the piece through a bandsaw afterwards to 10mm so the pieces fall out. I setup tabs on one to test. There were originally 4 of these in a row, all set to cut in one Toolpath - but this is where the issue comes in. It doesn't go to a safe Z after the 2nd piece h...

Cut2d cutting above workpiece

Hi All - I have a strange issue. I draw up an item in cut2d pro, copy the item the paste it 4 times within the layout I created. I select all the items and go to Toolpaths. I set my Z safe to 5mm, select the tool I want to use, calculate without issue and then save using the imventables gcode post p...

Hi All I was hoping somebody could assist me - I am making a sign out of White Oak , setup and tool selection is good and the sign is able to be cut - the problem is my safe Z seems to be an issue. When the Z axis lifts to move to the next letter or shape it moves before the Z axis is out of the way...
