I would like to thank you all for the great ideas on getting this project done. I have started to divide up the different processes into different layers. It does make it a lot easier to manage the project.

I'm looking for help on a future project.
My wife found this project idea (attached) online and asked if I could make it. After spending hours editing nodes, I finally got it to look like the one in the attachment, using our names of course. I'm wondering if there is an easier way to drop in the names without all the node editing. Any sugge...

Re: Tool numbers
I would like to see a change in the software to where you can enter the tool number engraved on the bit , and be able to use THAT as your tool number instead of 1 to 256 or whatever the limit is now. That way when I pick a tool out of my selection, the feeds and speeds, and the specs would already b...

Last minute Christmas Present
Out working in the shop this past weekend making a last minute Christmas present for my grandson. He likes board games so I hope he'll like this one!! I just need to add the 1/4" bungee cords for the shooters. P.S. I do have a switchable blocker board that only has 1 slot in it. All graphics done wi...

Re: A Christmas Ornament
For those who liked the Christmas Ornament, I have taken it one step farther and added craft paper to the back of it. Chose the background paper of your choice. It gives the ornament a 3D look and adds more color to it. I have also added the DXF file for the ornament. It imports ok in VCP 10.5x but ...

Re: Model Railroad with J Tech Laser
Hi Leo I don't have any links to my layout as it is still under construction. The bridge is second model I have designed and built for my railroad using Vectric's software. This first one is a rotary coal dumper, that when finished will actually lock the car down, rotate it and empty the "coal" into...

Model Railroad with J Tech Laser
I'm building a model railroad layout in my garage. I have a 2 foot gap between two of the tables so I needed to design and build bridges to span the gap. I fired up VCP 10.5x and started designing the first of two bridges. I found a lot of nice tools in VCP to help me in my design. The side pieces w...

Re: A wonderful Christmas Present
Thank you everyone for the compliments. This project does take time to cut but it always turns out beautiful when finished.
VCarve Pro 10.5x never lets me down.
I use it for both my CNC machine and my JTech laser.

Re: A wonderful Christmas Present
Dave The piece ended up at 8 3/4" x 24" x 3/4" This time, I manually increased the machine feed speed to see if I could reduce the total time. Everything worked out fine so I may make the change permanent on the next one I do. Since I'm using a router, I don't like to push too hard so as to not wear...

A wonderful Christmas Present
Here is my 3rd Virgin Mary Christmas present for my wife this year. Bought online, and it cut out of 3/4" hard Maple. It took about 6-7 hours to cut using a 1/16" ball nose but with 8% stepover. I finished it up with a couple coats of Zinsser's Bulls eye Shellac.

A Christmas Ornament
I just finished this up today, ready to hang on the tree. I made this using CVP 10.5x and a 7 watt J Tech laser. I posted the DXF file for this on the Vectric Facebook page.
