Re: Pine Wood Derby

I was a Cubmaster years ago.... We had a "regulation" track and bought an electronic finish line. That solved a LOT of issues with trying to sight who came in first, second and third. With the elapsed times and length of track, I calculated the models were doing close to 200MPH. Kids loved the elect...

Error: No toolpath generated...

Trying to do a simple profile cutout. Attached file should have only one TP - problem path.
I've never had this problem in the past 3 years.

Any help would be much appreciated.'
Thanks.

Re: Practice Pieces

Try using cauls to keep the strips flat when gluing up the board. Scrape the excess glue off after sitting for about an hour (easier when the glue is not fully hardened.) Also, some waxed paper between the cauls and the strips will help with not having the cauls glued to the board.

Outstanding. Can you point an old jarhead in the direction to get this file and the round one you made with the EGA in the middle please.

Re: Updated to v11

Progress...? I went through Diamond Lake on my way to Alaska in 2006 on a motorcycle trip from DC. Camp had changed quite a bit. Progress can't take away all the great memories I made there. Retired now and living in the foothills of the Appalachians in Virginia (born in VA). Spend most of my time i...

Noticed you are from Diamond Lake, WA. North of Spokane? I went to BSA summer camp there for 5 years 58-63. Beautiful; God's country.

Wood "spikes" on a 3D carving

I've cut this design 7 times in different woods and different sizes. This time I wanted to cut the total carve time as much as possible as this is the largest piece yet. I put an offset border around the project and then use the Create Vector Boundary around selected objects tool so I could pocket c...

Yes, the treble clef is upside down so I could get the "inside" of the treble/bass clefs to look like a heart. The Heartbeat of Music.

Great job Les. I looked to send you a PM, but could not. Are you able to share the file, if no copyright issues?

Re: V11 Installing 11.005 Patch

No issues here. I run McAfee antivirus. I did notice that in v 11.003 that the conversion from mm to in was not correct. I see that was fixed in 11.005. Vectric staff have created GREAT CAD programs and does an outstanding job fixing issues that may arise. There is no way they can anticipate every s...

Re: Aspire V11 is OUT NOW!

Opened Aspire and noticed Update to v 11.003 available. Went to web site, watched the video. WOW! Ordered and downloaded. Question: can I move all the clipart from the v10.5 directory to the new directory for v 11? The upgrade price of $400 USD is fair and reasonable considering all the new features...

Re: Modelling service

When you find a good picture you like try Jim Darles at legacycncdesigns.com. I commissioned him to create some 3d designs from jpg files I sent him.

Great work at what I thought was a fair and reasonable price. See attached pictures of two of the designs.

Re: Newbie seeking advice

I would suggest running the V-carve tool-path twice. I find it cleans up and better defines the carving and only adds a few minutes. Just imagine the time our forefathers spent hand carving something like this... I also use a dremel tool with 3M sanding disks to clean up the fuzzies. Then the real w...
