Super impose 2D view on to 3D view

I want the ability to view the 2D view on top of the 3D view. Basically super impose the 2D onto the 3D view.
Is there a way to do that in vcarve pro version 9.5 ?

Re: conical fluting toolpath

Adrian wrote:Not many people read posts in the gadgets section as it's very specialised. You might get more responses if you post in the VCarve section with a picture of what you want to do.
Is there a way to move the thread to another section? Or do I have to do a fresh post in the general section?

Re: conical fluting toolpath

This image shows what I want. The fluting is conical in the sense that it looks like a straight rhinocerous horn split length wise.

conical fluting toolpath

I want to create a conical fluting toolpath. The moulding toolpath creates a non-tapered toolpath if I give a straight line as the rail and a semi circle as the profile. I want the same except the radius of the semi circle should change from one end of the rail to the other from 1/2 inch to 1/4th in...

Re: Calling moulding toolpath from a gadget

Thank you very much Adrian. I spent countless hours pondering how to do things without proper documentation. Never thought changing the .vgadget to .zip will solve my problem at least partially. I would still like someone from vectric who created the moulding toolpath code to either update the API d...

Re: Calling moulding toolpath from a gadget

I am using Vcarve Pro 8.5 for Shopbot. I would appreaciate it very much if you could post the API documentation as a pdf file that I could download.

Re: Calling moulding toolpath from a gadget

Where is the API. So far I've been using existing gadgets to get an idea of how to create a gadget without an API document. I downloaded a file called Vectric_Gadget_SDK_V3.vgadget from one of the links in http://gadgets.vectric.com/developerinfo.html. But I am unable to install or open it since it ...

Calling moulding toolpath from a gadget

I wrote a small gadget to create a rail and a shape for a moulding and tested it. It displays the 2 vectors correctly. Now I want to make a call from my gadget to the "moulding toolpath" and create the moulding. How do I automatically fill in the values for the toolpath and create it from within my ...

Re: Creating a bounding box

When I run the .exe file the install program presents a list box with no components to select the components to install. it may be due to the fact that the .exe file was created using some old version of windows and does not work with windows 10 install. Even though it may be a .zip file changing th...

Re: Creating a bounding box

I tried downloading the Square_Around_Gadget_Install.exe for v8.5. When I try to install there are no items in the list box that I can select to install. I had a similar problem a few months earlier with the gear maker gadget and someone provided a zip file of a directory that I can copy to the gadg...

Re: Creating a bounding box

I don't really need that precision but I gave 0.0001 just as an example of why a system function is better than a manual creation of a rectangle. I was wondering why vectric did not provide an extra option in the "vector boundary" menu item. A choice between 'rubber band' or 'bounding box' or just a...

Re: Creating a bounding box

Drawing a rectangle is not the same as finding the bounding box. When you draw your own rectangle it may be off by say 0.0001 or so and it is a trial and error process to get the rectangle exactly right. A lot of CAD tools have the ability to find the bounding rectangle of selected objects. And it i...

Creating a bounding box

In Vcarve Pro 8.5 for ShopBot how do I create a bounding box of selected items? There is a button on the drawing menu that says "vector boundary" that allows you to create a rubberband boundary. What I need is a rectangular boundary that encloses all selected items.
