Re: Best practices to cut through plywood - Z Axis
Gerry Good points, thanks! The problem persists with up and more recently with up cut bits. I also realty planed a new layer off of the top of the spoiler board. To your pint through, maybe the material thickness is slightly different a few inches inward versus where I am measurements from at the ed...

Re: Best practices to cut through plywood - Z Axis
Good morning Michael and thank you. I am setting the Z-axis at 0 by referencing the top of the material with the touch probe. Then in the Vectric Pro software, I input the material thickness. As a point of curiosity, the last cut I even instructed the Vectric program to cut 2 thousand of an inch dee...

Best practices to cut through plywood - Z Axis
Group - On most of my cuts the Z axis does not quite cut through the material. It is about 2 thousandths short of cutting all the way through. Although I set the cutting depth two thousandths deeper than the material thickness, my cuts are still not complete all the way through the material. I am ru...

Re: Pins and tails don’t align for box lid but OK on sides
I started a new six-sided box in Vcarve and believe I corrected the problem as well as found the source. Although I have not cut it out yet as I am waiting on new bits, the computer model in VCarve Pro looks promising. Here is what I learned when designing a six-sided box. The creation of the doveta...

Re: Pins and tails don’t align for box lid but OK on sides
Jim: Thanks for the help. Yes, I agree with your observation about the bottom not being in a "pull state." Consequently, the dovetail may have marginal structural value, but I wanted to do it because it is "cool" and it would add to the mystique of the Christmas gifts that I am making. Yes I am usin...

Re: Pins and tails don’t align for box lid but OK on sides
Thanks Jim
Maybe I now know why I have not seen many six-sided boxes using the dovetail gadget. Most I have seen are only four-sided. I am sure the problem is something to do with the thickness of the material when the pins and tails are calculated.

In my first attempt the sides fit well as well as two sides to the top and bottom, however two of ...

Re: Help with Lake Map
This is great thread.
I too want to do some old street and road maps. To this point, where can I find information on how to take a PDF or JPG to digital file to carve them with a CNC router.
Thanks!

Digitizing service - large vintage paper prints
Hello: I have a few full-size vintage paper plans to make outdoor Christmas decorations. The plans consist of Santa and elves. I would like to reproduce these decorations using a CNC router. With this in mind, is there a digitization service where I can send the prints to who will digitize them and ...

Re: Dove Tails wrong side of line
CrowsWW: Thank you for the tip. I am sure this is somewhere in the documentation, but I missed it. With your tip in mind, I experimented with changing the starting points in the node editing mode. I found that the green arrows designating the starting and ending points must be all pointing the same ...

Re: gadgets box creater
Adrian: Just curious if the problem with the "Box Creator" gadget not nesting the parts properly in version 9.015 has since been corrected in the latest version of VCarve Pro? I like the simplicity of the Box Creator, but the lack of properly nesting the parts and the huge waste of material that is ...

Re: Gadgets installation
Martin:
Did you resolve the issue you had in installing a gadget?
I am having the same problem. The files I download for the "Box" gadget does not contain any files with ".vgadget". on the file extension that the Vacarve Pro installer is looking for.
What am I doing wrong?
