Re: CNC Lathe

I am with Ted (TReischl) on this. I have a lot of years programming CNC lathes. Programming with G-Code that is. Also primarily metal cutting. A Lathe - not a rotary axis is something I have never seen in the Vectric line up, nor on the forum. It would be interesting, but I don't see Vectric doing ...

Re: Nesting trays... Cut2D w/3D import

Will try attaching the files... I wouldn't cut these without reviewing the dimensions; I made some adjustments to how I cut everything along the way and although I *think* these were the latest revisions, my only guarantee that they'll work correctly as posted is that I'll refund every penny you pai...

Re: Nesting trays... Cut2D w/3D import

Hey Dave, Is there a source or link for the trays pattern? - Bill Well, I'm not Dave ("davis" ) but I'll assume you meant me. I actually just worked up the pattern from scratch; it's not too complicated, just a matter of getting the dimensions correct for the size of the trays you want to pr...

Re: Nesting trays... Cut2D w/3D import

THANKS James. I apologize for not answering your question... I didn't notice a reply had been posted to the thread. James set you on the right path, though. The trays were a great hit... gave them to my daughter for Christmas. Warning, though: the ability to carve canned 3D models with Cut2D is a g...

Re: Sign made with Cut2D

Very nice... clean, and I like the colors.

Anybody else find themselves wanting to grab the corner of the pic with the mouse and rotate it around to see the details and shading from different angles?

Nesting trays... Cut2D w/3D import

Cut2D Gallery doesn't get enough love :) A set of nesting trays made with Cut2D, using an imported VectorArt 3D model. I was happily surprised to find you could do this with Cut2D! Really opens a lot of doors if you're willing to fork over a few bucks for a model. The finger joints weren't done on t...

Re: Kansas City Royals World Series Sign

Very nice! I wanted to do something similar for my son-in-law (big Royals fan) for Christmas this year, but didn't have any luck finding the logo anywhere. I only recently upgraded from Cut2D to VCarve Desktop, so wasn't sure how to make my own (or if I even could without Aspire). :(

Re: Finally Cut a Paradise Box

The guy that gave me the log thought it was from a Mulberry tree but Box Elder sounds more likely! Wish I had some more of it, thanks. The red in Box Elder will fade very rapidly... within days. I don't know how much a finish protects against this (my experience is with cutting and splitting firewo...

Re: Flue Toolpath Usage

NewAgent, did you carve the actual checkers yourself? If so, can I ask where you got the pattern?
