Re: Asymmetry in Parts due to Direction of Cut
Without seeing a picture of what you describe, it sounds like your rotary axis isn't aligned perfectly with the X (or Y) travel of your CNC. You can save the rendered image of your job and post it here, and that would explain better what you are trying to cut. If you've got a photo of what actually...

Asymmetry in Parts due to Direction of Cut
Hello all, Does anyone know if there is a way to ensure that part symmetry can be addressed in V Carve toolpath calculations? I am attempting to cut a cavity into a rounded work piece using the wrapped job setup / pocket toolpath features in V carve. In the simulator, the cavity looks exactly like t...

Re: V Carve Pro Wrapped Job Setup / Mach 3 altering steps pe
Actually solved it this time. Turns out my machines' motor communication was reading inches. I just assumed that the boxes in the bottom right of settings were where that was set, I did not realize there was another setting in config. Thank you.

Re: V Carve Pro Wrapped Job Setup / Mach 3 altering steps pe
did you calibrate the machine in settings --- steps per unit? Yes, and now that I have checked the box in general settings the jogging speed stays calibrated throughout. The big problem now is that when I run a Y2A wrapped program on my machine, the file says one size, but Mach 3 will run the file ...

Re: V Carve Pro Wrapped Job Setup / Mach 3 altering steps pe
If you have to check that box, then Mach3 is setup incorrectly. Sounds like the machine is setup in mm's, but Mach3 thinks it's in inches? I have it set to mm's in the settings and in the post processor. After clicking that box, I went to do this engraving and the motors (X,Z, & A) all turned 25 - ...

I have actually solved this issue by checking the box in the top left of General Config. I solved this by finding this on another post on the forum: download/file.php?id=28081&mode=view

V Carve Pro Wrapped Job Setup / Mach 3 altering steps per un
Hello, Hopefully this is a simple solution. I'm trying to do basic engraving across the face of a 1.5" diameter cylinder. I am self taught so my knowledge and terminology may be a little skewed, so forgive (and correct me) where I am in error. I am currently using V Carve Pro v 9.014's Wrapped Job f...

Conical Frustum
Hello, Is there anyway to create a tapered cylinder (conical frustum) in V-Carve Pro for the purpose of designing engravings across the entire workpiece? Some of the pieces I have been working on taper to a point over anywhere from .25 to 5 feet. Right now I simply divide the work space out into par...

Axis Calibration with V Carve Pro Wrapped Job Setup
Hello, I have been using the Wrapped Job Setup in V-Carve Pro to establish the diameter of the cylinder and size of my jobs (engraving a cylindrical object), but when it comes to cutting the pockets the width and length of my jobs are inaccurate. Let's say the job is .040" wide and .5" long. When th...
