I am still waiting too.
It might not be a problem routing wood but it currently is a tremendous waste of time when making deep pockets in metal with slow feeds.

This then looks like an excellent suggestion for a program improvement.
It basically would take two lines of code.

It makes a big time difference when very small cutters are used so many vertical passes must be used.

When making a pocket or other cut with multiple passes for depth, a G00 to safe height is issued before a slow G01 down to the next level. It is not needed when the X/Y coordinates do not change.
