Thanks Don,
Adding "line art" to my search made alot of difference...I think I've got it now.
I should know this at my age...

Fender Stratocaster Vector Needed
Hi All, I'm in need of a nice vector outline of a Fender Strat Guitar for a cutting board gift... If anyone is willing to upload one that would be great, or if you can tell me a good site to purchase and download one I'm good with that as well. I've found a bunch but am a bit unsure of the quality.....

Re: Aspire won't create Bottom Side Toolpaths
Thanks Greg,
I did upgrade to 10.512 this morning when I discovered the problem.
I'll see what I can do with your suggestion....
Scottarnor - Thanks for the response also, I seem to remember having an issue like you describe in the past, but I found nothing crazy with the nodes this time

Re: Aspire won't create Bottom Side Toolpaths
That should say -
Out of memory when calculating toolpath. The resulting toolpath(s) may be incomplete / invalid.
and here's the file if that helps....

Aspire won't create Bottom Side Toolpaths
Hi All, I'm working on a double sided sign that is all 2d and V carve toolpaths. I have the job all set up and the vectors I need on both sides.... Created the toolpaths for the top side no problem.... When I try to create a toolpath on the bottom side I get the message -- Out of memory when creatin...

Re: Need an inlay suggestion
Hi Charlie,
Another way to go would be to use a neutral color wood for the suit inlays and color them before gluing into the recess...
Oil based paint thinned at least 50% gives good color without hiding the grain. Clear coat on top you're good to go.

Re: Newbie Alert - Why isn't this working?
I think whats going on is that after cutting the edges are a little different than the original vectors, dependent on the diameter of the bit. You mentioned that you are making inside and outside profile cuts...doing a profile cut ON vector should cut the error in half.... And use as small a diamete...

Re: .25 em stepover for roughing
Hi,
I think 40% is a bit conservative.
With a nice sharp bit and material that is not prone to tear out,
I will run 80-90% step over with no problems.
That'll cut your time in half or so....

Re: What does "Model position In material" mean?
Hi, This is a 3d model setting only, not for 2d stuff Lets say you have a model that is .75 thick and your material is 1.0 thick... You can position the model vertically in the material block as needed... An example - a dished model would be set with no gap above model so the dish would start at sur...

Hi,
I think with Vcarve putting the tabs in before export is your only option.

Re: calculated run times vs. actual
Just to clarify.... I was referring to the 200 ipm rapid setting in the time estimate box, not the carving feed rate. It is true what Dealguy11 said about actual carving speeds, in 3d carvings set feed speed is rarely met. However, setting the rapid rate for the time estimate to the max rapid of you...

Re: calculated run times vs. actual
Hi there, I do agree with the other guys about the time estimates, one setting does not work for all cuts. Some experimentation and note taking is in order. I did want to comment on your toolpath settings to speed you up a bit... In your 3D finish path you set 7% stepover, I'd bump that to 10% and y...
