Re: Possible ? Multiple items on multiple blanks, one run
I second the fixer dude. If you create your jig using aspire, then you already have the exact shape of your jig. I've done this before, and it works splendidly.

Re: Tooling marks on straight sides
Most of the advice I had to offer has already been put out there. Not directly applicable, but if your model had been generated from vectors, one additional improvement is to make sure that you do not have excessive nodes in the vectors. I use 2-rail sweeps quite often. When you offset one vector th...

Re: Finish toolpath
Are you carving that in solid wood? My guess is that what is happening is not a drop in your z-axis over time, but just tension release in the wood as you are cutting. So when the toolpath bypasses one area and cuts another, that cutting releases more of the stored up tension in the grain which caus...

Halftone Gadget with V9
I just upgraded to Version 9. The half-tone gadget is consistently returning an error despite varying configuration of parameters. The error is this: (Method EnsureHomeZIsSafe) No matching overload found, candidates: bool EnsureHomeZIsSafe(ToolpathPosData_Base&,bool*,bool*) Anybody know what I'm doi...

Re: keyboard Shortcuts
I purchased a Logitech gaming mouse, and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to program a macro that will click on a specific screen coordinate or otherwise choose the line tool based on a different method. How do you do this??????? If there's already a keyboard shortcut, no problem, but for ...

Hey Adrian,
I downloaded that software. Would you be willing to send me a sample script you've written to assign a keyboard shortcut? I would be eternally grateful.

Re: Achieving the Smoothest Possible Surface Pre-Sanding
Thanks for the replies, fellas. I'm asking for just a general purpose. the octagonal design was merely a function of saving on materials. The application I'm speaking of would just be a flat pocket on the 4th axis, which would just be an unadorned cylinder. I've purchased a mortising/bottom smoothin...

Re: Achieving the Smoothest Possible Surface Pre-Sanding
My bad. It is a 4th axis. However, camaster refers to it as a recoil lathe. Anyways, I've got some pictures. I gave it a bit more thought, and I don't believe you can get a smooth finish with any bit that doesn't have cutters spanning the full diameter on the end. So perhaps a straight cut plunge bit?

Achieving the Smoothest Possible Surface Pre-Sanding
Hello All, I have been running my new Lathe attachment on a camaster for about a month now. I'm about to do a six foot long pocketing tool path on the middle portion of a maple column, and I'd like to save myself some sanding. When using a pocket toolpath to bring to the final thickness, what sort o...

Re: A Gadget for Customizing Your Own Hotkeys
Oh wow, Adrian I haven't purchased the new update yet, because I'm so swamped. Not a bad problem to have. I wasn't aware of the quick key feature. I'll look into that. Also, very interested in the software you mentioned. I really want to make aspire tailored to the types of projects I work on, but I...

A Gadget for Customizing Your Own Hotkeys
Having recently updated from 3.5 to 8.5 I'm really really really starting to enjoy using Aspire. Good job, fellows. I'm probably going to purchase 9.0 this evening. However, I am constantly frustrated that there is not a shortcut key for the Line/Polyline tool or the Offset tool. Shoot, I can think ...
