100% correct on the tip Ron
It's all the small things that make all the difference.
I think we are excited to see the final result and want
to get there fast, only to be disappointed.

How about the difference in humidity in your shop from one day to the
next. You would be surprised what a little moisture can do.

Ron I surely don't see a problem with your wood selections. I personally like to be surprised when looking at a piece of art. I like the shades of color in the compass design, to me it is very eye catching look. By the way when I Blew up the compass you get a close up of how tight your inlays fit. A...

You sure have come a long way on your skills of Zank Inlay, and by
the way thanks for the help with the settings.

Got it, came up with a formula that allows me to produce what ever
angle I need to match the angle of the molding toolpath for the top
side. Glad I paid a little attention to those geometry classes in High
School.

Fluting Crazy
Currently working with a bronze sculpture artist building bases for his art work. These bases will also have components and wiring to light the sculptures with LED lights. Everything was great when I did a series of bases sloped at 45 degrees using the molding toolpath. the bottoms were pocketed out...

Everyone has some great comments on this subject and I agree with all
of you. I have found the most liberating word I have in my vocabulary now
is the word NO. And if you follow that with the second most powerful words
of THANK YOU, you get a great felling of stress relief.

Re: Michael Tyler’s “Pierced Tin” Tea Chest/Tissue Box
Ron that's got to be the best looking pile of scrap that I've seen
in awhile. Really nice execution of the tissue box, and I would
bet that your wife is the only gal on your block that has one.

Really nice job on the island cabinet. Nice touch with the celtic weave
it makes a nice finish to the ends of the cabinet. The finish is great.

Re: A simple way to make inlays
Silicone caulk would be the best choice. The reason is the movement in the
wood verses the stableness of the corian. The expansion in the wood may cause
a crack next to the corian.

I use my tool touch off plate for all my bits. As said slow down your z zero speed
so you are not touching at a high rate of speed. I also manually go down to within
a 1/4 inch and then go to automatic the rest of the way down to a brass puck.
Have not damaged a bit yet.

Re: Corian/Epoxy Inlay
Hey Aussie... First off thanks for your interest in the project. The tools I used for this were the standard ones I do inlays with 90 degree V-bit and 1/8 inch end mill for clearing. 1. On the sun I used a flat depth of .2 and filled that with the yellow Epoxy when it started to set up I used a toot...
