Multi level shadow box

I have imported plans for a multi level shadow box from a magazine. The drawings came in as a .zip .PDF there are 18 layers to this project. I converted the first level from PDF to vectors by importing the bit map, then Traced the Bitmap, I am relatively new to this process but I have done it a coup...

Sorry. I really didn't mean to hijack the thread. Just trying to show how versatile a CNC can be.
Steve, you sure did not Hijack this tread, your contribution was just the advice I was looking for, thank you.
It has led me to finding a path to the information I needed.

Oval Box

The two main tools in my workshop are a Lathe and my CNC ( a Piranha XL) . If I want to do a round box I will use the lathe. I am trying to teach myself Desktop Pro and came up with the Idea of doing Oval or triangular shaped boxes. I have seen some on YouTube but they all use a different program to...

Opening a .V3V file

I am using Vcarve desktop but have some images in the .V3V format. Can I open them in Desktop and if I do will the NWE Piranha be able to cut them? This may be an extremely basic question but I am as lost as I have ever been with a computer trying to learn CNC software. Thank you all again. Cliff

Zipper Clock

in this month's Project the description seems to indicate that this can be opened and run with either Aspire or Vcarve. Although it was created with Aspire. I can not get it to open with my Vcarve desktop software is there something that I am missing? (Aside from Aspire?) Thanks for any helpful answ...

Re: Signing bowls

Even a blind hog finds an acorn sometimes.

Thank you all for helping me, I did find that if I changed from the Engraving bit to a 60* it gives me a much better signature.

On to the next problem!

Again thank you ALL.

Signing bowls

I a currently, primarily a bowl turner. This is my first "from scratch" project on the CNC. I have a Next wave Automation Piranha XL that I decided to use to sign my bowls. I have most of the problems solved but I am using a Freud 70-103 engraving bit and it is too much like writing with a crayon. w...
