Re: Fabber - a new CAM add on for Aspire and VCarve
Hi all! I created Fabber. The alpha test is for a cloud based version of our exporter. We also have this one that integrates right into Vectric: https://www.getfabber.com/buysub To answer your question about 2 sided machining: You can do it in two exports. You export your part orientated one way, an...

SketchUp importer and auto toolpath gadget
Hey everyone, I thought I'd share this SketchUp importer I'm building: https://youtu.be/h4WgAt3CZq0 Basically you can take anything that's 2.5D from SketchUp and import it into VCarve/Aspire. Our Vectric gadget will also make all of your toolpaths for you (you can edit them after if you'd like) Ih t...

Re: Beta test a new importer!
We just posted an update to the plugin. We now support Aspire 9.5 with our installer.
We've also tweaked a few things and squashed a few bugs. We'd love for any Vectric users to check it out!

Re: Beta test a new importer!
Adrian, you're definitely a Vectric power user so I totally get why that workflow is good for you. The best workflow is the one that works for you for sure. One of the goals with this plugin is to not only make it easy to go from 3D to fabrication, but also to make file sharing easier. If I send you...

Re: Beta test a new importer!
Great question Adrian: The built in SketchUp importer is pretty good (I helped a little design it!) but there are some shortcomings: First, it doesn't support newer versions of SketchUp. More importantly it "fits arcs to curves" rather than pulling true arcs and curves from SketchUp. Back when the d...

Beta test a new importer!
Sorry if this is a double post, I had this up the other day and I went back to try and find the post and it seems to be gone... Maybe I didn't hit submit? Anyway... I've long worked on better ways to get 3D models into VCarve/Aspire for cutting. For a long time I've had a workflow for getting Sketch...

Re: files folders for gadgats
Sorry, I should have explained better... I know how to delete a traditional Lua script file, you do that from the application data folder under LUA. What I'm talking about is a gadget that I installed by double clicking a .vgadget file. It installed (and is available for my use in Aspire) but I'm as...

Re: files folders for gadgats
I came across this message searching for a solution to uninstalling VGadget files... They don't appear in the Lua script folder... Does anyone have any idea how to uninstall these things?

SVG Import Scale
Hey all, I'm having an odd issue dealing with SVGs into, and out of VCarve/Aspire. I've created some designs in VCarve and then I export them as SVG and bring them into Illustrator CC (latest version) and they are also the correct scale, IE the size in Illustrator perfectly matches the size they wer...

Re: OpenDesk Olivia Desk Hack
On this particular desk it probably doesn't make too much of a difference, but here's the theory: The variable is always the plywood, every sheet is a different thickness. The only variables you can easily control are surfaces that the machine has actually cut. So imagine your design needs a pocket ...

No problem! If I you've got a 4x4 machine this will cut in one shot pretty easily.
