Re: Low quality v-carve

What I like to do with any v carve is cheat the zero down -.01 and re run the file. It will clear many of the fuzzies away

Doing a couple of Zank inlays

Have tried some in the past with mixed results. Recently someone, (can't find the post now) posted a tutorial using a 15 degree v bit. I've always used a 60. Watched the video and it made sense that the 15 degree bit would leave more material in the intricate parts of the inlay. Gave it a try with a...

Re: Something NEW is COMING SOON - Tune in for our big reveal

That looks like a great add on. The one question I have is - will it work on a stand alone laser? I can see me wanting to use it for the 3d effect.

Re: Using Photo V Carve in Aspire

Coit, I ran your picture through to see what it would look like and to be honest, the best thing to do is start over. There were very few useable vectors. It would definitely need to be gone over and new vectors made. You can get a good look by deselecting the bitmap layer after you do it to see wha...

Re: Using Photo V Carve in Aspire

If you are trying to do a photo v carve you don't need to convert it to a vector file. Just import the file do the line spacing and depth, enter the bit and go. If you are trying to do a v carve, its a little more complicated than pressing a button and going. It probably won't trace well in which ca...

Re: Preferred Vcarving Wood

Usually, the harder the wood the better. I like hard maple and cherry. Oak is tough. It is straight grain and has a tendency to chip out when cutting across the grain

Re: Finishing Advice

I do all mine the lazy way. I do the project. Sand and get all the nubies off as much as I can. Put a coat of sealer on, sand smooth and the sealer stiffens any remiaing nubbies and helps them break off. If need be, another coat of sealer, sanding afterwards, then one coat of finish. At this point n...

Re: Can't down load g code

Is it a trial version you downloaded? If so, I'm not completely sure, but I don't think it will run something you made with it. I'm not sure, if it does, I'm sure somebody will chime in.
