Re: Y axis different

...... How did I sync? Jogged the Y to one end within digital caliper range and then turned the power off to the stepper drivers, do not unplug the motors!! With the power off turned with my fingers the couplings where needed to align the two. Power back on do a few test moves to make sure they sta...

Re: Y axis different

What control software and control board? For my build I used Mach4 since I have used it and Mach3 for years. PMDX USB control board. I have one of my Y motors as a Slave to the other and PMDX makes sure both have the exact same Steps per unit in the setup. How did I sync? Jogged the Y to one end wit...

Its 30 seconds not 30 minutes. Vectric is about a fair and honest company as I have ever dealt with, especially as a software company. :D

Re: First cut on my Work Bee.

I am just finishing testing my1000x750 Work Bee. Will run a project today on it. Using Mach4, PMDX Usb control board and a Hitachi router motor with 1/2 and 1/4 inch collets available. Very impressed with the quality of the Chinese made kit, mechanical part that is, I built my own control panel and...

Re: Contemplating buying a Shapoko, but their speed/feed defaults make no sense.

I just sold yesterday a large steel framed CNC router that was heavy duty and taking up a lot of room. Building now a Workbee 1000 x 750 mm running Mach4 and heavy duty NEMA 23's. The router is what I had on the big 48 x 48 before the upgrade to a 2.2 Kw spindle and VFD, 120 volt Hitachi M12VC 2-1/4...

Re: New to V-Carve Pro

Just so you know. . . . a cnc machine operating in X,Y,Z cannot cut a true arc. A G2/G3 move is broken down internally into extremely small straight line segments. The only place you can cut a true circle on a cnc machine is on a rotary axis. Can you post a pic of one of the fonts you are having an...

Re: 3D finishing

Ok I was going the ask that same question, but now thats out of the way. So as I did today I wanted to add some text and then a profile boundary to the 2 step 3D/2.5 D image. So do I just Zero any remaining tool paths to the same untouched Zero area I used for the 3/2.5 D image or do I try to zero t...

Re: Preparing for Carving SKS Stock Replacement

I have a very nice probe to duplicate a design, it works fine in Mach3 but I have nothing for Mach4 which I now run. I can switch back to Mach3 and do the probe routine and then save and touch up in VCP or Aspire, other software? Wondering if that would be an option?
