Re: Can't smooth edge of relief

It happen when the modeling plane get above the component I'm smoothing or sculpting. The "pixels" are trying to reach the surface. I guess I'll have to change some habits.

Can't wrap my head around the components 'Base Height' in the 'Component Properties' dialog and the 'Modeling Plane' in the Material Setup dialog... they seem linked but then... :?

Re: Can't smooth edge of relief

I have "fixed" my problem but I'm not 100% sure how I did. Kind of in a rush right now... I did noticed that my modeling plane is off but can't seem to be able to fixed that correctly. Things are just moving (Z) around. Seem I've messed up during modeling components... only a few I had proble...

I used short cut keys, keyboard short cut, keyboard short cuts, short keys... but have not tried Short-Cut Keys. I guess I was also lazzy to not look through the help manual.

Re: Sign Bits for beginner?

A set of point round over bit. Not very common but findable. I got my set of three (R 1/4-3/8-1/2) at Hartlauer bits . They call it round-over bit 'V' bottom. They add a very nice touch to letters and shapes for a small additional cost. Check it out . I would also recommend various V bit from 90° to...

Re: Customisable nesting ???

It won't go to waste I believe. I second your request for manual toolpath ordering. This has been requested before and is currently discussed elsewhere... Sign maker, cabinet maker and more want/need this. We all have found work around but hop for a better solution. Keep in mind that no solution wil...

Re: Wish list items?

Rob S, if you search the forum, or if someone can remember, you will find thread(s) discussing the "trick" to create inlay vectors based on the cutter diameter. It's pretty straight forward and this only what ACI do in it's toolpath wizard. In other words, you can already do this in the current rele...

Re: Wish list items?

Prismatic here too. What we need is the algorithm for the correct stepover on large design/V bit diameter ratio. Full prismatic combined with the current bevel edge strategy (with inside/outside sharp corners) will definitely set Vectric apart from the rest. Prismatic/beveled edge is really p...

Re: Parrot

Pretty good man! Keep at it! If I may, the beak could blend a bit better with the rest of the head... maybe it's a bit too thick from the head thickness . I think the nostril should be at a different location . Really just an observation. But I'd guess it's a WIP, right? Keep us post on the final. M...

Same here! :)

Considering the evolution so far, I can help to wonder what it'll be like with Vectric in five years...!
