Is there a way to view/edit the intermediate vectors? Or is Sketch Carving basically the same thing as the Trace Bitmap tool, but without the vectors?

I would copy the existing dash in Aspire into its own project, then take some tight measurements with calipers and align the cnc to exactly where you want the dash. All the short cuts are listed at the very end of the reference manual, at least for VCarve. The tutorials do a good job of tell you when they use shortcut keys so you can follow along. That's a great suggestion for a gadget. And it wouldn't be that hard to create, either.
Next time I'm stuck removing small vectors, I may just write it up.

Is the vector grouped? Select it and hit "U" a couple times to ungroup everything.

Is the vector closed? Select it and hit "J" to join it into a solid vector.

You can try to perfectly model the angle with a 3D creation and cut that, or if you have a control panel that has a "virtual zero" it can sense the angle while you treat everything as flat.
