WHy? you can use a CNC to drill if you need precise XY positioning that is repeatable.

When I picked up my CNC it ran win95 for the interface PC, 2 years ago I upgraded to XP , cant go any further because I need to use a piece of interface software that is only 32bit

Also, depending on your control software, you can do it at the machine level where you offset to a new location, which is treated as the new home position, and run the job again. Why do you need the point? I use many 120 v-bits with the small flat at the tip and have never had an issue, ramp your entrances .

I drum sanded the boards to a perfect .55 each and took pains to ensure I was level, they are flat as a board. so you have a +/- of .05 " or so, that could be how far off your drum sander is from being perfectly parallel.
