I made a typo in this post.
I DID NOT make the 3D model of the Couple on Bench FOR Design and Make but rather I got the model FROM Design and Make.
Sorry Todd, my mistake,
Michael

Twisted Frame
Greetings All, Just wanted to share a new twisted frame I've been playing around with in Aspire. There's a lot of possibilities with this new approach. Here's an example of the finished product. The "Couple on Bench" is for the Design and Make store. https://store.designandmake.com/shop/product/1929...

Offset or Raster.
If Offset, try going in the opposite direction ( Climb vs, Conventional )
Check results.

Re: Is there really no way to do this?
Here's a way to change the size of groups of rectangles. ... Click apply and the new horizontal dimension of each of the small rectangles is now 2". ( see "Box 5") ... and some (if not all) of the rectangle's centers have moved around, too. So, there doesn't seem to be a way to resize multiple sele...

Re: Is there really no way to do this?
Here's a way to change the size of groups of rectangles. This also works with other shapes as well. For the sake of argument let's say we have several rectangles on several layers. ( see "Box 1") All rectangles are in the same "direction" 1.5" x .72" ( see "Box 1") I now want to change all the recta...

Re: Help creating 3D toolpath
I figured out my issue on cutting the imported file. Ok so this job will be handled. Still curious if VCarve Pro can create a 3D elevations from a 2D drawing No, VCarve Pro can not create 3D elevations from a 2D drawing. The best you could hope for is using the pocketing toolpath, the Molding toolp...

Re: Zank inlay when background is stained
Steve,
If you're looking for real Stickley finish, why not use fumed oak that was "fume" completely ?
Then the colour would be not an issue.

Re: CONVERT 2D TO 3D
The short answer is no, you would need Aspire. The longer answer is, "It depends on what the image is, and the effect that you want for the final product." Seeing the 2D image might be helpful. How do I upload files or photos to the forum? Is this something I could do using the Aspire Trial version...

Re: Rotary modeling and toolpathing advice
If you play your card correctly , using VCarve, you can do what you want with the Moulding ToolPath.
You can adjust the shape and depth of the twist as needed.
Here's just a quick example.

Re: Tool Database Window
Kurt,
I believe it's in the "Options" window.
Go to "Edit", then "Options", and check the first three options to "Yes".
Open your Tool Data Base and make the changes you want.
Save that file and open a new session of the software.
It should remember these changes.
