Joe,
Thanks for the detail on how you did that. Very creative!

Re: Dogwood Barrette
Joe,
You mentioned that it was difficult to get it right. It would be great if you could give us more details as to the steps you used to make that beautiful barrette - especially using the two different woods.

Mark,
Here are the directions for doing what you want. I developed this technique and posted it a few years back for an older version of Aspire but the concept is still valid. Let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Maple Oval Box Carved on Indexer
Thank you for the nice comments
Steve, my indexer is a "homemade" one that consists of a stepper motor linked to a step down transmission salvaged from a lab. It is able to handle 12" diameter and 44" of length and sits across the front of the CNC on the X axis.

Maple Oval Box Carved on Indexer
Not all things produced on an indexer have to be round. This 9"L X 7"W X 5.5"H oval box was first created using stave construction out of maple. An Aspire rotary job was created and an oval based on the box dimensions was unwrapped. Then the William Morris fern design was overlaid on that. Since the...

Re: Eagle in the Woods
Very nice work.
Was the ash slab wet, air-dried, kiln-dried?
The reason I ask is I have a bunch of ash trees killed by a beetle infestation and I am trying to decide how best to process them so I can use on the CNC.
Thanks,
Paul
