Thank You gkas but the one I am specifically referring to is the 'Document Variable' listed under the Edit Menu.
They are one in the same. You can create/maintain/view all of the variables in a single dialog. You could import all of the names for a production piece of name plates.

Re: What on earth is going on? really stuck, need help!

Why don't you post your crv file so we can take a look at it. If it's too large, then put it on Google Drive, or Dropbox, etc. They all have a minimum free setup. Right now, I'd guess you're trying to Vcarve the circle. With a single vector, it'll cut until the bottom of the V is reached. You most l...

Re: vector validator

Something is amiss with the "m", it checks out OK in Vector Validator, but if you try and VCarve just the "m" you get an error. I went into node editing for the "m", made a cut at the starting node then used the Join Tool to rejoin the now open vector. Now the "m" will carve correctly. Interesting ...

Re: vector validator

You can change the names, as long as you leave them as 'TEXT'. These have been changed to 'curves'. I also don't see why the 'm' won't carve. Maybe some other sharp eyes can see the problem. You don't have to convert text to curves to Vcarve text. If you convert to curves, hide a copy of the origina...

How do I correct overlaps and intersections when I validate the vectors?
Use node edit mode to move or clip the lines. Or, delete bad section and redraw.
