Re: Aspire V10.5 is OUT NOW!

Thank you to everyone at Vectric for some great updates to Aspire! I have to admit my initial reaction was ... "what do I need an update for"... then as I watched the video I thought "oh that's neat.." and then "Oh that's just so cool" etc etc. So many of the updates I now realize are going to be ve...

Re: Little Boxes - Technical Hitch

Thanks Adrian.

I had assumed ( wrongly) that 4 inches would correspond to 4mm in the metric post-processor hence wanting to change the units in the model in the first instance. Thats a good tip to know.

Re: Little Boxes - Technical Hitch

Thanks High Pockets - I think my understanding is growing! Would you be able to explain how you fixed the overlapping items in Node edit? I ran the validator as you suggested and can see it found 3 overlaps and 31 intersections for the two segments when they are joined together. I'm not sure what yo...

Re: Little Boxes - Technical Hitch

Digging a bit deeper I found that in the RB2 file from "Spalm" there is a layer that has one sector of the pattern. I copied this to a new file and switched from Inches to Metric with no issue. I then setup a V carve toolpath for the one segment and again no issue. I then mirrored (flip horizontal) ...

Little Boxes - Technical Hitch

Hello, A newbie so probably making a stupid mistake but I can't fathom out what I am doing wrong - hence asking here for advice. I am trying to make one of Spalm's little boxes as per http://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=27103&hilit=boxes. I got the bottom piece cut no issue, I am using Aspi...

Re: Carving tool supplier in England needed

Just wanted to add a +1 for Wealdentool.com

Good quality cutters, fast delivery ( they are in Kent, I am in north east Scotland and items still arrive the next day from ordering) , reasonable price in my view.

Re: Newbie question - sloped cut out with rounded edge

Thanks Leo. I think if I had 4 separate sides that would get glued together then the router is the way to go. But pocketing this from one piece of wood and then putting the shape for the opening on a vertical side is a little trickier with a router - maybe use a template and a profile bit? Appreciat...

Newbie question - sloped cut out with rounded edge

Hi I'm new to CNC and to Vcarve pro and just getting to used to the basics and have made a few simple things. For a small project I wanted to make a wooden napkin holder/tray. In it's simplest form this is just a square of timber 200 mm * 200 mm pocketed out to take square paper napkins somewhat lik...
