Re: Rotary tool path output is wrong.
I just tried every single wrap y-axis post processor there was with all the same results. It is not allowing you to use the correct direction rap post processor in V carve desktop 9.5. I will be upgrading to pro and hopefully the glitch is not there. I am uploading a better video showing exactly the...

Re: Rotary tool path output is wrong.
Nope. I spent 4 hours on this straight. This is a glitch in vcarve desktop.martin54 wrote:Are you using the correct post processor? there are 2 pp one for wrapping x & one for wrapping y, sounds like you have selected the wrong one

Re: Rotary tool path output is wrong.
If your rotary is parallel to the X then you need to wrap the Y values. The X movements stay the same. It is the Y movements that need to be translated into rotary movements. Change the post processor to wrap Y. Correct What I'm saying is that there IS a glitch that is not allowing you to use the c...

Rotary tool path output is wrong.
I hope someone from vectric.com is seeing this. I'm so excited for the rotary ability. But I found a huge glitch. It is a glitch. I just spent 4 hours digging into it. It's all explained in this video. https://youtu.be/RtTKuqkpGdM I can't wait to use my new rotary cnc machine. Just need proper g code.

Re: GRBL rotary questions
FYI I figured it out. The job orientation in vcarve must match the wrap orientation in the post processor to activate the rotary tool path saving dialog box.
When I am done tinkering I will have a post processor for a rotary CNC machine for GRBL.

Re: GRBL rotary questions
I started with my current modified x-carve post processor. The arcs are already in that. I'm using the same grbl version. I can't wait to test!!

Re: GRBL rotary questions
ok after talking to support and looking at videos, I believe I have it figured out. I should be able to get it to do exactly what I want. My main issue was not having the ALONG X axis or Y axis correct. Once I figure that out, I'll be set. If anyone is interested, here is my post processor so far. I...

Re: GRBL rotary questions
OK I think I am on to something for the post processor looking at the shopbot indexer post processor. Using that 1 triggers a secondary option Box when saving G code that has to do with changing the axis to degrees. The hurtle I see now is figuring out why it was saying a completely round model was ...

Re: GRBL rotary questions
Or since my controller IS Y for the rotary, Do I even need a different post processor than my standard GRBL cnc machine? Does Vcarve output Y if I tell it to wrap around the Y in the project?
I will be using rotation center as my zero always.

GRBL rotary questions
Hello. I'm about to finish my Rotary Demon build. I know conceptually what I need and how it works. I just need a little conformation and a few questions answered. What I know 1. my rotary is a K11 100 with a 6:1 reduction. 2. I'm running my CNC DemonLTE controller which is a 3 driver version on my ...

Re: VCarve v9.0 Release Date?
Why wait? Simple. There's no guarantee that 9.0 will be released within 12 Months. They have given zero time line. I already own desktop. I have yet to need to carve bigger than 25" x 25" without tiles anyways. And yes, the 2 sections on upgrade vs update do in fact contradict each other. But there ...
