Re: VCarve Pro for Linux

You could try running them with WINE or one of the other similar programs for windows apps.

Re: Extra lines made in hatching toolpath

From what I can see with files I've done, is that the darker lines in the preview are one raster pass lying right on top of another pass which then doubles the "Burn Rate" and displays a darker preview. The reason this may happen at varying locations, would appear to be that depending on the raster ...

Re: Extra lines made in hatching toolpath

I have seen this as well. I haven't noticed it in the finished product, though it may have just been that it didn't over burn that spot for me.

I will have to try varying the spacing and see what happens.

Re: Laser Module Question

How do you line up your router/spindle? You could figure out the offset between the router and laser and then do whatever your controller allows for setting that offset as your new working coordinates (WCS). Set your XY zero, burn a spot, put a v-bit in the collet, move the v-bit to the burn spot, r...

Anyone running an old Buselatto

Hey Guys,

Is there anyone out there that is using Cut2D/VCP/Aspire on an old Busellato? I think it's a Jet 4002 or similar. Looking for some post processor help.

Re: key slot bit

Get yourself some of these. The picture is wrong. They are 1/2" shank and 2 flute. I've never broken one, just wear them out. I cut hardwoods and MDF with them. I'll generally run them around 12000-13000 at 3"/sec (1"/sec Z). http://www.amazon.com/850-501-11-Keyhole-Cutting-Diameter-16-Inch/dp/B000P...

Re: Kentucky Coffee wood flute case with musical movement.

Nice work.

Looks and sounds (stringy) a lot like butternut.

Another good/easy/fast small box hinge is a medium barbed kerf hinge. Use 100's of them. There's a spring loaded one too.

Leopard relief

Anyone seen a leopard relief anywhere? Looking for one that could be used on a box cover, possibly in a horizontal dished oval recess.

Thanks

Thanks James!

Sure, you can use it. Here is a better image that was stitched together from several shots.

Re: And another mantel

Thanks,

Just one man and one woman. Butternut isn't too heavy, but it was still about 120lbs before it was cut down to size.

I used an air hose from time to time to blast the wad of fuzz off the cutter.
