Help needed
Nearly all of my work is 2D so I haven't got Aspire- I make ukulele and do a lot of inlay work and stuff that requires simple cuts. However I do want to create some models (I think that is what they are called) for two instruments and a set of tapered curved fingerboards. I can make a simple radius...

Re: Help needed.
As I sat thinking about the problem last night I came to this conclusion as well. I drew out what I thought it should look like using the tools but don't quite know how to create the dish tool path. Do you have a private email address i could send the file to for you to look at? My address is pete@p...

Re: Help needed.
Yes. I know that would be one way but it would require a tool change. I am looking to complete all operations with a 5mm bull nose bit...

Help needed.
I've been wrestling with my CNC to produce ukulele components for a year now and have got the basic stuff down. I recently designed a jig and tool paths seen performing here https://www.facebook.com/artisanukulelemaker/videos/1722477627801194/UzpfSTIwNTc1MjkwNDExNjA0ODk6MjE5MDk4ODMzMTE0Nzg5Mg/ I onl...

Re: G Code dropping
Well I lowered the feed rate, reduced the stepover and depth of cut and hey presto, after a very long time a successful electric ukulele body was cut out.https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =3&theater. Thanks for helping me think this through.

Re: Problem with a program.
It's sorting out the nomenclature and then doing the calcs. I'm not lazy, just not overly technical

Re: G Code dropping
This is very helpful. However I am not very good with written explanations and find that link to a completely incomprehnsible data sheet. I use a twin fute 8mm spiral downcut solid carbide cutter. I have a cut depth of 4mm with a stepover of 6mm. My router can run at anything froom zero to 20,000. I...

Re: Problem with a program.
Same problem 2 different machines? Can you recommend feed rates or point me to a feed rate chart for hardwood. We run 8mm and 12mm spiral downcut cutters

Re: G Code dropping
YouTube link sent. I'm in the workshop tomorrow and will do a run and film the entire process for you. We are running an 8mm cutter at 20mm/sec at a speed of 22000rpm, depth of cut 4mm and a 6mm stepover. I ran it previously at 10mm sec. I did not that there were some 'hard stops'/jolts at the highe...

Re: G Code dropping
Machine is brand new and the axis run very smoothly. Could it be a laptop issue - app working in the background?

Re: Problem with a program.
So do you recommend removing all programs except the operating sytem and the Mac3 software because I have an issue and I am sure it is related to this topic. A newly delivered machine and laptop worked fine on day 1. Then when I shut down the laptop it went into configuration windows routine. Despit...
