Re: Sharp Radius Corners??

Oh, I have just sussed it out. There is a tick box in the moulding toolpath that says "Create sharp corners". I missed it. I unticked it and all was well.

Sharp Radius Corners??

I am creating a rectangular block with radiused corners and then I want to create a radiused chamfer to the top edges. For some reason I cannot do this as every time I render it I get a sharp corner. I tried applying Boolean curves and added more nodes as in my picture but whatever I do I get a shar...

Re: Stepcraft UCCNC?

The Photo VCarve toolpath is designed to work with V-bits. The Laser Module introduces a dedicated toolpath, called Laser Picture toolpath. You've mentioned that you were unable to use Laser Module so far, sorry to hear that. Have you contacted our support team? (support@vectric.com) Greg K Yes I d...

Re: Stepcraft UCCNC?

Yes, I did contact them at the time and I tried the postP but it didn't work. Maybe there is an upgrade. Where can I get it from?

Stepcraft UCCNC?

I purchased the laser module when it first became available but have not been able to use it. I have a Stepcraft D420 with a DL445 3W laser and Vcarve Pro 10.5. I have two methods I use. The first one is to use the standard profile toolpath on my vectors and then select a tool (which are basically e...

Re: XY Datum Offset

I almost alway use it. I set X and Y value to 1/2 the diameter of the bit I'll be using first. Either may need to be a negative value depending on which corner I've chose. What it makes easy is zeroing X and Y by sneaking the bit up to the relative edge of the board until a piece of paper is trappe...

Object Properties Transparency % ?

Is there an ini file or something I can edit enabling me to change the (Object Properties) settings of "Fading of non-selected bitmap" from the default 52% to 23%. i.e. when I create a new image and import a bitmap it defaults to my choice and not 52% saving me having to change it every time.

Re: Decision Time...

I have been advised to leave 3D alone when it comes to producing wooden gifts if I am looking to make money simply because of the time it can take to machine anything. This came from people who are experts at this sort of thing & I believe they know what they are doing. There are several key things...

Re: Decision Time...

dibble3.jpg Oh also perhaps someone can help me with this problem. I have created a 3d carving from one of my photos and initially it is something like what I am looking to do. But I cannot seem to find the process to cut the material from the edge of of my image to the outside of the material. i.e...

Re: Decision Time...

dibble round.jpg Ahha, I think I have just sussed it. I have found the right click on the component has a combine mode. I selected merge that seemed to do what I wanted. So I seem to be barking up the right tree. Maybe I am a step closer... :) I have been planning a new range of my products for a w...

Re: Decision Time...

If you want to see results on small, tiny, itty bitty work look at some of the post that ScottP55 has put up. He works well below your envelope and gets stellar results. That should boost your confidence level quite a bit. Yep that is interesting I would be interested to see other peoples work in m...

Re: Decision Time...

In fact it would be really useful if Vectric would add the capability to the trial version have up to 3 chances to output the gcode so you can check out the results properly on you machines. You can save the gcode for the tutorial projects and many of the free projects as many times as you like to ...
