Object Properties Transparency % ?

Is there an ini file or something I can edit enabling me to change the (Object Properties) settings of "Fading of non-selected bitmap" from the default 52% to 23%. i.e. when I create a new image and import a bitmap it defaults to my choice and not 52% saving me having to change it every time.

Re: Decision Time...

I have been advised to leave 3D alone when it comes to producing wooden gifts if I am looking to make money simply because of the time it can take to machine anything. This came from people who are experts at this sort of thing & I believe they know what they are doing. There are several key things...

Re: Decision Time...

dibble3.jpg Oh also perhaps someone can help me with this problem. I have created a 3d carving from one of my photos and initially it is something like what I am looking to do. But I cannot seem to find the process to cut the material from the edge of of my image to the outside of the material. i.e...

Re: Decision Time...

dibble round.jpg Ahha, I think I have just sussed it. I have found the right click on the component has a combine mode. I selected merge that seemed to do what I wanted. So I seem to be barking up the right tree. Maybe I am a step closer... :) I have been planning a new range of my products for a w...

Re: Decision Time...

If you want to see results on small, tiny, itty bitty work look at some of the post that ScottP55 has put up. He works well below your envelope and gets stellar results. That should boost your confidence level quite a bit. Yep that is interesting I would be interested to see other peoples work in m...

Re: Decision Time...

In fact it would be really useful if Vectric would add the capability to the trial version have up to 3 chances to output the gcode so you can check out the results properly on you machines. You can save the gcode for the tutorial projects and many of the free projects as many times as you like to ...

Re: Decision Time...

Thanks for all your input, I figured by what I had watched that Aspire was probably the best route. I think mainly because it is a complete solution and a very easy learning curve. I have been playing around with the trial and by watching a video from an Australian guy who created a basic model simi...

Decision Time...

I have a couple of Stepcraft 420 CNCs and make very fine inlays. Up to now I only have Vcarve Pro 9.5 which is excellent for the jobs I do, but I want to create 3D wooden creations from photographs I take. For example I would like to create a 3D head of a Wooky type creature which would only be 40mm...

Re: Chamfer Radius Gadget - New Gadget

I've changed the lines in the gadget that stopped it working in the latest versions. I don't like amending other peoples code but Jeff appears to have gone awol. It can be installed using the instructions Jeff posted on the first post of the thread or you can rename the zip file to vgadget and inst...

Re: I am stuck?

Ahha, seems it may have baffled a few. I have sussed it. The problem was because I selected the inner and outer circles so it created 2 profiles. Obvious really I suppose. Anyway I made my profiles by drawing a rectangle as a guide then a polyline diagonally and back to base. I then (not sure why) h...

I am stuck?

I am trying to make some Oak radiator caps and I cannot seem to work out the correct tool using Vcarve Pro. I have tried the moulding tool and the chamfer gadget but each tine I seem to get 2 tapered rings. I created two circles inner 16mm dia and outer 40mm on 12mm thick oak. I am using a 3mm end c...

tomgardiner wrote:Sorry, wrong wording. You have selected Ramp at Start and End under Flute Type.(in your screen shot) I would have thought it would be better to Ramp over Complete Length.
Yep, Ramp at start is 11 secs faster than the other, but the process seems similar.

tomgardiner wrote:Never thought of the fluting path. I am surprised that you have selected the flute in and out option. I would have thought the flute in would be the best option. Remember the feed is determined by the plunge rate when z motions are used.
what do you mean by in and out option?
