Re: is this the biggest outdoor lithophane
For sure one of the biggest I have ever seen,
surely much larger then I can create (max 1.00 mtr x 0.60 mtr) so I would have to make 8 pieces and combine those together.
Also wonder how much time it took to machine this piece
Cheers..... oh sorry.... Sláinte

Re: Can i use a v bit as a cut out tool with a v edge all the wa
Hi Eddiem, don't forget that with a V-Bit your only cut about 20% of the depth at a time so set pass depth for that tool to 20-25% . When using an endmill (of any diameter) you cut outside the outline, also start your depth at 75% of the thickness of the material, no need to 'cut-air' ;) cheers John

Re: Can i use a v bit as a cut out tool with a v edge all the wa
Hi, if you have a V-Bit with a diameter of 1 inch the solution is easy like I try to show in this picture: Knipsel.JPG - a 1/2 inch deep profile cut 1/2 inch inside the outline - move up to free height - move to center outline - 1 inch deep profile cut ON the outline only thing is the outline itself...

@ rscrawford
sorry but there is no maximum cutting depht mentioned in the tool database......
one can create a 100 units deep profile with a 0.010 units tool who has a pass depth of 0.00001 units
