Re: 3d finishing toolpath operation order

It is not correct to say that Aspire always starts at the lowest point and then move to the highest point. I have a job at the moment which is machining a feature on both sides of a piece of material, similar to a chamfer on both sides of a board but not that simple. I have broken the job into 3 too...

Re: V9 Gadgets NOW AVAILABLE

Hello Sean,

I have just upgraded to VCarve 9.507 and the apply toolpath template gadget causes a "fatal error".

I use this gadget every single day, it is the most useful feature of VCarve (well almost). Will the gadget be upgraded? If not I will have to go back to V9.0.

Re: Graphic on Plate Production

Hi Jim, There are 32 "plates" per sheet and I am not sure at the moment exactly how many sheets possibly around 10 to 15 sheets. Randall, Thank you for your reply. My original thought was that I would somehow have to create a "font" to do this. You have given me the lead to be able to do this. By th...

Graphic on Plate Production

Hi, Is there a way, by using the plate production tool, or any other method, to place a different graphic on each plate? I have to produce several hundred "plates" and depending upon the text on the "plate" the graphic to be carved on each plate may be different. The text is no problem it is just th...

After Nesting deleting a sheet

Hi All,

Once a model has been nested is there a way to either add or delete a sheet.

I find on occasion that I need to manually adjust the nesting for a variety of reasons and some times I end up needing an extra sheet or a blank sheet, so I would like to add or delete sheets.

Nesting

Yuri,

If you email me the vcarve file of what you want nested and the numbers of copies I will do it for you and email you a vcarve or eps or whatever you need. Please also include the amount of space you require around each item and any other relevant information.

Jack, We do mostly contract work and a lot of prototyping so we cut a variety of materials, plastics, mdf, ply, non ferrous metals veneers etc. We cut 18mm ply quite frequently as well as heaps of 6mm ply and we always use a 6mm single flute left spiral solid carbide from Carbitool. We buy them 10 a...

Jack Sorry to chime in again but after re reading your post, I think you feeds and speeds may be partly to blame as well Check out the Onsrud website they give fairly good chip load numbers but they are specific to their products. Check with the manufactuer of your bits and they will give a chip loa...

We find that different brands of bits make a significant difference, probably more so than changing feeds and speeds. Even bits with supposedly the same profiles from some manufacturers are impossible to live with.
