Re: CONVERT 2D TO 3D
The short answer is no, you would need Aspire. The longer answer is, "It depends on what the image is, and the effect that you want for the final product." Seeing the 2D image might be helpful. How do I upload files or photos to the forum? Is this something I could do using the Aspire Trial version?

Piranha FX with Piranha Laser Head. V-Carve Desktop 9.5. Have issues with unsharp images and wandering lines. See attached photos. Anyone able to tell me what I may be doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Re: size of carve in trial version
The trial versions will only allow you to carve the sample files. They won't save the code at all for a user created file. It definitely sounds like a metric/imperial issue (assuming the machine has been properly calibrated to start with). Which post processor are you using when outputting the code...

Re: Trouble getting cnc piranha_inch.pp to download to my pr

I contacted the tech support people at Vectric and they sent me a link to download ...

Depth Adjustment
Hello CNC'ers: I am having nightmares trying to carve text to the proper depth in 1/4" lucite. See photos. I have set the depth using a V-carve toolpath and a 60 degree v-bit. As you can see, the top line of text is fine, while the bottom line is not. In particular, you cannot read the year 2018. I'...

Here's my version of your file on red oak. I chose to leave it unpainted. My dimensions are off just a tad off, but overall I'm very pleased. Thanks for posting.

TILING TOOLPATHS
The attached file was downloaded from this month's Vectric newsletter. It's too large for my small Piranha FX machine, so I've been trying to tile it into two separate files/toolpaths without success. Using VC Desktop 9.0. Any suggestions?

Re: Tips to remove masking from acrylic
Tried several types of tape including packing tape - no go. Heat gun helped, but still had to peel it back with a toothbrush and exacto knife. I think this is the hardest part of making one of these.

Tips to remove masking from acrylic
I just started making 1/4" thick acrylic lighted LED signs on my CNC, So far everything is great except the tedium of removing the masking that comes on the acrylic after the cuts are done. I know that many take the masking off before cutting, but I prefer to leave it on to minimize scratching. I cu...

Yes but that's my point Leo, your making your observations on the file he sent to you, the actual job Red cut & posted was done before he made that correction was it not?  I "THINK" he tried several of the suggestions that we made, but It is difficult to really ascertain if he really did...
