Re: Document Variables? What can be controlled?
When I'm testing a new toolpath I simply want to be sure I don't drive the tool into the table (or more likely I'm trying to be certain I get exactly the right depth / offset to get a desired round over, etc.). So, I'll run the TAP at 100% until it gets close to the material and then slow it down to...

Document Variables? What can be controlled?
I've finally learned to use DV for cutting depth but I thought "wouldn't it be nice if I could set a feedrate as a variable" but apparently this doesn't work or I'm doing it wrong.? I created a variable and then tried to reference it in my toolpath (under the tool EDIT settings) but it simply ignore...

Using a "Document Variable" in "Set Last Pass Thickness" field?
When I try to use a variable in this field it does not allow me to "APPLY". I am assuming this cannot be done?
It certainly would be nice to be able to choose a standard thickness for a job once I find the perfect thickness for a given material / speed combination....

Font spacing when choosing to bold Helvetica
I'm attempting to use Helvetica Std Med Ext font but to get the exact look I want I must click the "BOLD" checkbox. But when I do this my font loses the proper spacing and the letters overlap. Is there any way to fix this without ungrouping/converting the letters and manually moving adjusting the sp...

Re: Organization of layers and toolpath
The primary reason I use so many layers is because I keep everything segregated so I can easily refer to an "Automatic" toolpath which points directly to an entire layer almost all the time... Yes, I'll send a request and some screenshots to Vectric. Thank you Adrian!

Re: Organization of layers and toolpath
Has anyone heard whether or not LAYER grouping will be an option in the near future??? I've been using the new "toolpath grouping" feature and it's made my CRV3Ds much, much easier to manage. Being able to do the same in LAYERS would be a HUGE boost to my productivity... i.e. Today I'm looking at a ...

Help closing a vector
This vector (on the left) appears to be a single, closed vector but it is not... This seems to happen to me on a fairly regular basis and I typically just manually (slowly and painfully) draw a line around the perimeter of my vector and delete the original vector which refuses to CLOSE. But this isn...

Re: Delete nested sheets
Yes, you can UNDO but after you've moved on / saved the file it cannot be reversed.

Re: Delete nested sheets
I forgot to create copies of my vectors / groupings before nesting and now I want everything removed from nesting. SURELY this isn't STILL an issue???? Doesn't this seem like a major design flaw?? Any time the solution is "create a new file and start over" you'd think it would be addressed by the de...

Re: "Group Create" Icon
This is my most needed feature-add. (No, color coding is not adequate.) I have dozens and dozens of toolpaths (AND Layers) which I spend entirely too much time scrolling through to find what I need / want. (And after I've been out of a Vectric file for a few weeks/months it's entirely too difficult ...

Re: How to "break" a 'simulate toolpath' calculation
Yes, Vectric tech support is involved now and they are curious about the problem as well... (They have seen this on some other machines so they'll be researching further.) Yes, of course before posting the initial comment I'd already tried closing all browsers / tabs / apps to try to isolate the pro...

Re: How to "break" a 'simulate toolpath' calculation
Why do I need volumes of RAM? I currently have 158 browser tabs open on my computer. (Not an exaggeration.) Plus databases, CAD software, Vectric, Illustrator, GIS, etc. Discussions of "framerate" aren't terribly important unless you're video editing or playing games. What matters is how a p...

Re: How to "break" a 'simulate toolpath' calculation
The files are typically saved on a "synced" directory - not a shared directory. (So, each computer is working with a local version of the file.) To test this theory I loaded a different file (also extremely slow to calculate) the following file 3 ways. 1) . Mac running Parallels - file accessed thro...

Re: How to "break" a 'simulate toolpath' calculation
Hmmm... I've dealt with this issue consistently since I started using Vectric 4-5 years ago. This was one of the prime reasons I upgraded my 6-year-old MacbookPro - I would tell Vectric to simulate or recalculate toolpaths and it would slow to a crawl. I'd be forced to walk away for several minutes ...

Re: How to "break" a 'simulate toolpath' calculation
Yes, clicking the "EJECT" button killed the simulation so we were able to save the file. We tried it again and it repeats the issue every time. Clicking EJECT or the little red "x" seems to allow us to get out of the loop. (Not that I would consider this a solution for most users.) Ultimately, yes, ...
