STL Ontop of another?

We dont work with stl's often in the cab shop. Is it possible in version 10.515 to have a tree limb of sorts (would have to find one) with the frog stl that came with Vcarve projected onto that limb? I realize the limb stl would have to be very low in height to not distort anything projected on top....

Re: Stucco textture

You may want to look into EIFS texture and color coat for the stucco, it is usually acrylic or latex based and applied to foam panels. You may need to create a 'not smooth surface' on the panel for it to bond/adhere to. [/quote] Agree'd. This was my suggestion for an applied finish. Thanks a bunch.

Re: Stucco textture

Sample item to consider. 3D laser scan of an impasto oil painting to STL file. 18x15 inches. Tool: 1/4" ball end ; 200 in/min ; 0.020 inch stepover. Calculated optimum time of 1 hr 8 minutes. I don't have the running time but I suspect a 1.15 to 1.20 scale factor.   impasto.jpg Yes, unfortunately a...

I would thick an applied stucco would pop off with flexing of the sheet goods.
Agreed though a vinyl would be flexible enough but my suggestion for the applied would be once the panels are in place. Thanks.

Stucco textture

Does anyone know of, or have any input, on creating a carved stucco texture that is not brutal in time to machine? I realize this is somewhat vague but we are bidding a project that requires some full sheets (49x97) with a shallow carved stucco texture then to be spray finished and shipped. Ive ment...

Projected toolpath on STL or other options?

Is the simplest way to machine something like this a projected toolpath on an STL or is there a work-around using moulding toolpath? This is a simple adapter to mate a curved surface to a flat mating part. The only issue is its also tapered (one end of the adapter is thinner than the other). Im tryi...

Single line font source?

Ive searched several times and scoured the web for sources (paid or free) for true single line fonts (suitable for profile/on cutting). Anyone have any tips/locations for a decent array of single line fonts? I've found a few but its slim pickings especially for fonts that are not block/digital type ...

Re: Applying toolpaths to all sheets without saving as template?

Your the man Adrian. That seems to have at least gotten me to where I can calculate for each sheet. I do miss the apply toolpath to all sheets gadget/option where without saving as a template it would generate sheet 1, sheet 2, sheet 3, etc.. But this will work.

Applying toolpaths to all sheets without saving as template?

Sorry as Ive been reading throught the archives and know these questions come up over and over but Im wondering if there is a simple way to apply a bunch of one-of toolpaths to sheets without the step of saving them as a template and bringing them back in? For instance a one-of job that will never b...

Confused, two sided sheet process, profile on back says inside but cutting on outside

Scratching my head yet again. sheet processing a bunch of cabinet parts that require two side machining. Two sided job, bring vectors in, nest, move backside parts to other side, bring in toolpath template which includes profile-out for final cut out (two toolpaths for a full sheet return onion skin...

Spacemouse has little to no compatibility with Vcarve. We run them too but they are really a 3D environment tool. Other than scrolling there isnt much use in 2D

Eliminate home/start position in material setup?

Looked in options, trying to streamline/speed and wanted a way to kill the home/start position to kill the waste of tool running to X0Y0 or a set input. We keep that set to the center of the ATC rack X and 100" Y but it still means at the start of every file the machine runs to that start point and ...

Re: 10.xx saving toolpaths/sheets

Dealguy, That is what Im seeing. Vcarve use to output sheets simply as "Sheet 1" "Sheet 2" referencing only the sheet (group) name. This change is completely foolish. I Get file names like Sheet_Cabineo 35_ pocket dad0_ blah blah blah. One of those places where they had such an elegant and simple so...
