Re: Getting dimensions of a drawing

4DThinker, thanks. I did email the designer, but I figured I would try to have a plan in case they did not respond with the dimensions. I am also looking at CAD programs as the designer had indicated that the layer names indicated the heights, but I don't yet have a cad program.

My question is that I got a drawing of a design from a guy that included several types of files, including .dxf .stl .stp and .3dm; I can outline most...

Mike-S - I am working on a good dust shoe now, I currently have a wrap around piece of a leather apron that is usually on there, but took it off for the photos.

Spoilboard tooling

I recently completed a DIY CNC (Pictures in the Machine Gallery) and have spent the summer and fall tuning and playing with it. I had to use some shimming to get the spoilboard to be flat, (obviously some design-build errors), and had started to save up some money for additional tooling. I came acro...

Re: Display Case

Beautiful work, I too like the idea of the sliding door, going to use that on one of my efforts.

I really like the front carving, and that you use it to show off your other nice work!

Re: Gallery Of Machines

Here is my home built CNC. I googled a lot of DIY machines for inspiration, then started designing on my whiteboard. I bought the largest slides I could afford, then designed around those. Everything else is DIY in my garage. I do have a small Harbor Freight mill that I turned into a CNC machine, wh...
