I learned here on the forum that recalculating ALL toolpaths could make that go away quickly.

+1 True Indeed!!!

Re: geometry off in space distorting drawing

Try this --- Try Select/Highlighting the entire Drawing Area then go into Node Edit Mode In doing the above should bring out the items by attaching little squares (some green and some black) these squares will be attached to stray vectors about the drawing area. You can then delete any of these stra...

Re: 3D Carving Times

Yup! CNC 3D Carvings take time in order to produce a quality product. You could do a 3D carving with a 50% Stepover but the Quality of the modeled Carving would not be Visually Acceptable and it would not take as long as an 8% Stepover Modeled Carving. Also the bigger the Modeled Carving the Expecta...

If I am not mistaken those areas on a rotary axis at some point during rotation would be considered Undercuts so the preview Simulation may not show that area correctly. I could be wrong too that has happenend in more cases than I can remember.

Re: Acoustic Guitar Shapes

It isn't a full-blown gadget, just a LUA script. I took basic measurements of various acoustic guitar body shapes and set up the LUA script to create the bezier curves using ratios or percentages. This allowed me to experiment with the shapes using more of a mathematical approach. It assumes the pr...

Re: Why would we want to make dovetails

Having been a Furniture Maker for almost 50 years, I have never understood the fascination with dovetails. This was a utilitarian joint in the 18th century which used their existing technology and adhesives and wasn’t made visible except on drawer sides. It just held things together. With the techn...

Re: Random Bit plunging

To be honest, I am not familiar with that type of machine or its controller. I was just pointing out that that is what it seemed like was happening. Maybe someone with the same type of machine will chime in with their input as to a possible cause and/or even point to a specific Post - Processor for ...

Re: Random Bit plunging

Sounds like a Confused Machine Controller --- Stooges or Marx Brothers?

Not Funny Though but it does sound like there may be confusion between the Post Processor created code and how the controller interprets the actions needed.

Re: Segmented 2-sided cut

When You imported the Model did you check the box that says "Create Both Sides"?

*** I know that this is from V-Carve Pro but this should also be in Aspire (or something to that affect) even after Segmenting Model.

Probably Wrong But .............

Re: Tapered table leg in VCarvePro

Creating a Model and importing into V-Carve would probably be the best option in V-Carve Pro. It could be accomplished using the Moulding Toolpath but I believe that it would require additional cleanup to accomplish a true round shape. Here are two images I have done quickly of a tapered Leg. Model ...

Re: Tapered table leg in VCarvePro

Posting an image or a drawing here on the Forum would definitely be a big help. Kinda hard to visualize exactly what it is you are describing. I can only imagine maybe something like a pool cue only bigger in diameter.
