Like this!
Create a Vector for just the area you want the Fluting Toolpath to follow. In this representation I used the entire front vector of the seat.

Re: Version 12 Tool/Feature Name Changes (Be-Fuddling)
I will say that I miss the "Light Bulb  " for the Layer Visibility. I always thought that was not only cool for noting visibility but stood out from the "Active" notation of the layered item line. Now both the radio button and the Activeness are same Black unless radio button for visibility is...

Re: Removing Material
Just change your job setup material size to just outside the size of the model then create a vector boundary around the model, then create toolpath using the vector boundary to trim away what is not needed.

Re: phantom hole punch
Have you looked into Vectric Staff, Mark recommendation that he has posted on this thread?
I did exactly as he may have thought what you have done and I got eactly the same center additional hole after calculating Toolpath using the rectangle Vector.

Re: V12 Line Resolution
In days past there were those individuals who had asked if the vectors line thickness could be changed due to they were having trouble seeing the vectors. So just maybe Vectric just bumped the vectors line thickness a tad making them a bit bolder.
Just a thought!
