Re: Geometry Zero

Awesome looking carve!!!

Would enjoy being able to help but do not know anything of the other software packages you are posting about on this thread.

I did want to get a few words in on that Magical Butterfly.

Re: maintain older version of Vcarve Desktop?

I always keep and maintain (as best I can) the previous version of V-Carve Pro. I also have trial copies of V-Carve Pro, Desktop and Aspire for my online help sessions. It is helpful for me to have these different software programs because of some of the differences between each. I also feel it is o...

Re: vector validator

It is true I have found that the Vector validator doesn't always catch everything but it is certainly a big help in finding impending issues Sometimes when all else fails you just either have to zoom in get a closer look at the vectors or delete and re-create.

Re: 2d Profile Bit Change not allowed

Helpful Hint --- It would also be useful to get in the habit of using a valuable feature that is available to all who have purchased Vectric Software your Vectric Portal via the online button on the Tool Database Reference image below. This a great place to backup your Tool Database!!! Should you ev...

Re: Tool Database

The Tool Database has been designed with some safety in mind. If lets say you were to select the V-Carve Toolpath well then Form tools are not allowed to be used here so they do not show. Only V-bits are used hence the name V-CARVE of the Toolpath. If you click the display tool base icon under Toolp...

Re: Multi-Sheet Questions

I believe the assigned/chosen file name is redundant because in my case my folder name where the toolpath is saved is assigned the assigned/chosen name usually the project name. I am working within Toolpaths so I am led to believe Sheets with vectors have priority here for without sheets with vector...

Re: vector validator

The Vector Validator is just that a tool for analyzing vectors prior to toolpath creation. It is up to you to correct the vector errors using the various tools provided prior to toolpath creation. If you don't fix the vectors before the toolpaths are created they will not perform as expected. Sharkc...

Re: new user not sure where to start

Just to add to the previous Post --- A 90 Degree .5 cutting height V-bit was used to carve the simulation image.

And as stated by a previous poster it might be beneficial to review the Tutorial videos at the Vectric website!

Re: new user not sure where to start

To Clarify / Explain a little about the V-Carve Toolpath. Reference the image below as I explain each outcome -- The first is Arial Black Fonts Using a Profile Toolpath with a V-bit On the Vector with a Cut depth(C) setting of 1/16" The Second is V-CARVE Toolpath with none Flat Depth(F) (The Width o...

Re: Help Me Justify Upgrading to V11

Yup, all the prior opinions/comments/suggestions are recommended. I myself found that there is one really huge improvement with VCP 11 that is the capability of keeping various thickness parts of a project all in one Project File by using SHEETS which was already a part of VCP in the Nesting Feature...

Re: Newbie Alert: Can I get some feedback on this file?

But look around the base of the letter. It looks like the toolpath skipped the section that’s about one tool-width across. By RAWDAD I bet you stopped the toolpath midstream! You may be under the impression it had not carved the areas but yeah you may be correct because those area are left on purpo...

Re: Layers shortcut key.

oooohhhh..... I never noticed that. Cool. 8)
Another interesting note I had failed to mention is that the Layers can be reorganized on the Layer tab by highlighting the layer you want moved then selecting either the move up arrow or move down arrow in the upper right of the Layer tab.
