Re: Laser post processor

I think that "txt" in the picture is actually the line to set the extension on the toolpath output. For my little hobby system I use the "Intelicam GCode ..." post processor. I made a copy of that, and then edited it. 1) behind "Post Name" edit the label in quotes to a name you want to see in the li...

Re: tapered bit calculations

Ok, A little confusion here. The bit I have has a .25 inch flat bottom, with a 30 degree side angle. What I am seeing is that the software does make the correct calculations to determine the bit OD at whatever I set as the full depth. However, this means that the first pass does not cut to the corre...

Re: tapered bit calculations

I am trying a pocket path. Imagine a circle pocket that requires 3 passes going .12 deeper each time, each pass has the exact same path, just at different depth. On the second and third pass, the bit is cutting material at the full depth on the OD. Then when you program the same circle with only 1 p...

tapered bit calculations

When making a design with a tapered bit, and it requires multiple passes, it seems that all of the passes are calculated at the OD of the bit when at it deepest pass. This means, as you go deeper, the last pass on the is cutting material at the full depth of that pass. Is there a way to avoid this o...

Re: Raised text in pocket

Thanks guys, work great with one change. In Cut 2D, after selecting both the box and text, I had to use pocket path, not profile.

Re: radius groove

I wasn't finding anything either, was hoping I was just missing something. I figured out to write the g-code to make it work, at least what I can simulate on the computer. I guess when I actually get my router system in place, I will find out if it works.

upgrade with problem

I have Cut2D desktop 8.0, and was working great. Now after upgrading to 8.5, I can not output any toolpaths. I get a message of no post processors installed. I tried reinstalling as suggested , but still nothing. Anybody know what is going on?

Re: different toolpath in text

I guess that is one option, thanks. However, for what I am currently doing making several plaques, just changing names, it looks like it will be easier for me to just edit the toolpaths by deleting the excess tools.

different toolpath in text

Is there a way to program just specific letters of text with a different toolpath then the rest of the text other then making it 2 (or more) groups of text. I want to create a different effect on some letters.

Is there a way to slow down the preview speed more? Even at the slowest setting, the preview runs too fast.
