Re: Looking to upgrade hardware

Think you are looking at the wrong picture, the original poster is running a shark, had a look at the website & it is on round rail which looks to be unsupported although it was difficult to tell from the picture I found so could be supported. The website claims that your machine will run at 200ipm...

Re: Looking to upgrade hardware

I don't know what type of linear motion yours currently uses (it looks like V-Bearings), but you have to make it more rigid before you make it faster. Switching from V-Bearings to linear rail will make a massive difference in cut quality, and may give you some upgrades in speed as well due to less f...

Re: Looking to upgrade hardware

I have a highly, highly modified Joe's CNC that can run 2500 ipm rapids on X and Y, and 750 ipm rapids on the Z. I don't run it that fast because it is too fast for me to react to anything. Even at 1000 ipm (what it is currently set at), I don't have time to react, I just feel more comfortable with ...

Re: Apire 3.5 DXF Export to VCarve Pro 6.5

Not sure, but there are no duplicate vectors in the file that I am aware of.

Although Aspire shows duplicate vectors, if you delete them you will see there is nothing underneath them.

Apire 3.5 DXF Export to VCarve Pro 6.5

I made a vacuum plenum file for a friend, and since I cannot save down my Aspire file with all the toolpaths, I had to export the DXF from Aspire so that he could bring it in to VCarve Pro 6.5 When he brings it into VCarve, it gives him errors saying it is going to ignore vectors, but if I bring it ...

Re: Who needs another design software when you have Aspire?

I thought it was neat that it could do some outside of the box types of things.

Most of the users here are better at Aspire than I am, always great to see what they come up with!

Who needs another design software when you have Aspire?

Figure this post might stir some people up, but hopefully in a good way. We have been building our house for almost 4 years now (have taken a 2 year break to build my brother's house) and we are at a point where my wife is wanting some things finished up, like her master closet and cabinets and stor...

Re: Ultra Slow Aspire Load Times (3.5)

Mark,

The folder was set to my downloads folder. Once I changed it to the Desktop everything now works fine. I still cannot locate an email from you, which isn't a big issue.

Thanks again for your help, I am glad it was something simple :D

Re: Ultra Slow Aspire Load Times (3.5)

Didn't fix the issue. I have not been using Aspire much in the last year or so, but have been using it very heavily the last month or so and all the waiting is aggravating.

Never had issues on 32 bit Windows 7, I would go hack to that if it wouldn't cut my RAM to 4 GB :D

Keep the ideas coming.

Ultra Slow Aspire Load Times (3.5)

I just reformatted my system (Windows 7 - 64 bit, Intel Core i7, 8GB of memory ) and have installed Aspire 3.5 fresh onto it. When I try to open up a file or make a new file, it takes about 15 minutes to load the file. If opening up a previously created file, it will try to load the file and show al...

Re: using a diamond drag bit nice results.

I finally got off my duff and made one of these tools. Cost was cheap, and I had a buddy do the steel machining for free, but his payment is shown below. http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w241/swaggs21/CNC%20Projects/Granite/IMAG0004.jpg http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w241/swaggs21/CNC%20Projec...

Re: Does 3D automatically drop the depth of cut for finish passe

Rich, I will make a post in your build thread over on the Hybrid forum. There are some upgrades that you can do that can completely alleviate the issues you are talking about, but a couple are more expensive upgrades, but I think well, well worth it in the end. Good to hear you are doing well, and I...

Re: Does 3D automatically drop the depth of cut for finish passe

Rich, What Angie said was right on the money. This was the reason why I designed the Rack and Pinion Modification for the router that you run. The anti-backlash nuts are much to susceptible to cold /humidity for my liking, so went with a design where that does not happen. I think you would find it w...
