Re: Creating molds from imported images
Your'e right, I saw that project and it could give me some pointers. How did you like how it came out?

Re: Creating molds from imported images
Think I am getting somewhere. There are some tools in the modeling tab that does reverse the image. Messed with it a little just now and saw some encouraging results. Wasn't trying to be accurate, just firing for effect. Going back to try and complete a good model.

Re: Creating molds from imported images
Really appreciate the advice. I was thinking the same thing about subtracting the image but what I have found so far in the modeling tab when it comes to controlling Z height is that the lowest you can go is zero. I'm sure I watched someone dealing with this once in a video, just can't remember wher...

Creating molds from imported images
Hi Y'all, Got one of those questions where the answer is probably right in front of me, but I'm stuck. I am running a CAMaster Stinger, just upgraded to V Carve Pro 10. Most of what I have done has been 2D cutouts and some fairly straight forward engraving. I am moving toward 3D type stuff and whate...

Re: Text Inlay
I think I see what I did. On this text insert I had a start depth of 0 and a flat depth of .2 Looks like I inadvertently applied the values for the pocket. It now looks more like it should on the preview. Anyway, try, try again. I would still be interested in your advice if you are willing to look a...

Text Inlay
I am working on a project which has an image and text inlay. The text is Cambria and is .41 inches high. The way Vectric described VCarve inlay worked fine for the image but when I tried it with the text the pocket side went about .1" deep while the insert went the full .2". The insert with the text...

Inside Threads
Is there a gadget available for use with VCarve Pro 8.5 that will cut inside threads? If not, is there any other way to create these threads with the version I have?
Thanks
Thanks

Direction of Cut
When engraving letters, should I be using climb or conventional cutting?
Thanks

Re: Which bit?
Thanks, that confirms what I have been just starting to understand. I have only been engraving very small letters up till now, process and bits pretty much stay the same. But now, with larger letters and so many ways of cutting them I am seeing that the options are many to get the effect you want. A...

Which bit?
Cutting the profiles (outlines) on one inch letters. I can cut them cleanly enough but now I would like to run faster. All I have right now are engraving bits from 30 to 60 degree with anywhere from .005 tips to .05. I am about to order a selection of v carve bits but I am not sure which is the best...

Using v bits for creating letters
How do you determine which v bit to use when creating certain size letters? For example, I would like to carve letters that are one inch tall using a font like Cambria. I do not want the letters to be very deep or wide. I am running a CaMaster Stinger 1 with WinCNC. If I am running a V Carve tool pa...

Re: Modeling in VCarve Pro 8.5
Thanks Bob, that's what I thought. So far I have been only running 2D, 2.5D and some engraving. Just now decided to start learning 3D. Do you have Aspire and if so, what do you think about it?

Modeling in VCarve Pro 8.5
I would like to create some hollow Easter Eggs on my Stinger 1 but as far as I can tell V Carve Pro does not support the tools in the modeling feature to create the necessary tool paths. Is this correct and if so are there any work arounds? Or is it time to upgrade to Aspire?
