Luther’s Rose -Retirement Gift
Retirement gift for our pastor. Base model from design and make. I added the Latin expressions and raised ovals. Made from mahogany about 18” in diameter. Matte lacquer finish.

Photograph to 3D relief back to photograph kinda
Made a 4 of these for my uncles family after his passing. Used aspire to create the 3D relief from a photograph. Then I painted the carving with white paint. Then used some black tinted epoxy (tinted myself) and poured this in the carving. Very hard to get the contrast just right. I did the top righ...

Re: Poker hand - wedding plaque
Thanks for the kind words. With regard to my painting technique, I put 2-3 coats of shellac over the entire part. Then I applied the white picking stain to the cards. Hit it again with a couple more coats of shellac. Then I painted the lettering, using a damp cloth and a straight edge I’m able to ge...

Poker hand - wedding plaque
Gave this to my nephew this weekend for his wedding. They are big card players, and gave out decks of playing cards at the reception, so I designed the plaque around that theme.

Recent Project - Luther’s Rose
Made from 6/4 red oak, 23” in diameter. Made this for our church which is turning 150 years old this year. Model is from design and make. I am still amazed that carve is able to project the lettering onto a 3D model. Used a 1/2” 60degree v-bit for the lettering. Finish is a satin lacquer, sometimes ...

Beer tap handles
Some beer taps handles I recently completed for our up coming Octoberfest celebration (our community is called Block so we refer to the celebration as "Blocktoberfest").
The one on the left has brass inlay for the lettering. First time I had tried it and was happy with the way it turned out.

Re: Cubs World Series plaque
Rough cut with a 1/4" end mill 75 ipm at 18000rpm; finish pass with 1/4" ballnose at 75 ipm with a 6% overlap. Lettering was with a 5/8" 90 degree v-bit. For the Cubs logo pockets I used an 1/8" and 1/16" ballnose. I found the model of the baseball as an STL file on the net. I scaled the model when ...
