Re: Transporting a CNC machine

We've thought about this too. However, we'd need to carry all the other shop tools along with a very heavy CNC machine.
A mobile wood shop? Whoo-boy!

The AI file can be imported into VCarve.
All paths are ready for vcarving.
Hope that helps.

Re: a tribal design printed and traced using logic trace 2018

Tracing is where the money is.
Node editing is where the money is.
Creating offset paths is also where the money is.
(Sorry if that starts a forum brawl)

Re: Cost of a project

We stopped doing signs because around here (Southwest) we could never get more than $40 per sign.
You've made a sign that should sell for $125 (IMHO) but you will need an area of the country where you can get prices like that.
Good luck.

Re: Vector Validator

We trace bitmaps everyday using the Illustrator Trace Tool. Here's what we've figured out... So many times we get a double trace! The program traces the boundary and the fill. However, to the naked eye, one might not see that double trace. Illustrator can be told to ignore the fill color and trace o...

Re: Copying

FYI...

A majority of those vector images on vectorstock.com started out as bitmaps. They were traced into vectors with tracing software or some on-line tracing service.

Re: Copying

We trace a lot. Then we edit nodes a lot. All in Adobe Illustrator. Apps we use on our phone to capture images and edit (prepare them for tracing in Adobe Illustrator): 1. Graphite 2. BeCasso 3. Inshot We ask every customer to bring Vector art but that NEVER happens. Its always a Bitmap in a jpg or ...

tile-1.jpg We forgot to upload this. Here's the reverse trace result. The trace software used here did its job and captured all the details. However, the quality of the tile png is rough. We trace a lot around here. Powerful tool for production work. Making money with a CNC machine almost always re...

Re: Setting efficient cut paths

Efficiency? Ha! Great question. I wish vcarve pro was controllable in the way it moves around the graphic area. If it could start at 12 and go clockwise... 1-2-3-4. Instead, it jumps around from 1 to 8 then back to 1 then 7. Also, I wish we could stop the CLEAN UP cut of an already cut path. I don't...

I wonder how Jeff Dunham's "Walter" would answer some of the questions on this forum?
Probably be hilarious.
