Alignment and Two Sided Cutting
Hi guys, I wanted to make some two sided components but have found it very tricky to get the alignment of the x,y coordinates to be just right. Every time I set up the origin for a toll path I have to manually approach and it is very difficult to get the exact position correct. I have tried making a...

I just want to create vector tool paths for my CNC. Is Aspire right for me? I was going to go on the cheap end and just get the Vcarve desktop. Help please.

Aspire for MAC
Hi, Can I get Aspire for my mac at home? Do I have to run it on a windows emulator? I want to make some decorative tables, chairs, woodpanels, mockups of buildings, small prototypes, spoons, and so forth. The list of projects is really endless. Right now, I want to make some toroidal 2.5 D shapes so...

Re: usb pens
Hi, I had a problem with the USB drive; sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. I guess there is some formatting with the stick. I think these things take some time to resolve and if you contact the USB stick people they might give you some answers. I heard about USB2 and USB but I am not sure...

Re: Carving in Marble Too
I meant to say that it is dangerous to run it dry. I'll give it a shot next week to make my marble table tops.

Re: Carving in Marble Too
So the runtime has to be slower and you can do it wet. It does not heat, so the tool is not going to melt. It might crack if running at a high IPM and RPM. I want to use marble, my TiCarbide 3/8'' flat endmill and a pass depth of 3/16th. Thoughts?

Re: Making a Logo, CNC stonework etc
What is the pass depth and what do you think about cutting tile? Would you recommend something where the overlap is a high percentage or a low percentage? Where is the literature on this subject? What companies work in this?

Making a Logo, CNC stonework etc
Hi, I made some logos for my room. They are two of my favorite football clubs. Basically, I uploaded the logos and converted the border regions and the different team colors to vectors. When the software picked up pixels, I edited the vectors by hand and used the join vector tool. I had some trouble...

Re: Need help
Hi, I tried the same thing and it was trouble. I think there are a few buttons that can join vectors. Know that grouping is not the same as joining. When I started to do this, I thought to myself, join, group, assembly -- whatever it is all the same-- but no, it is not. Joining is a specific vector ...
