AH! The boundary offset was set to automatic. I wasn't aware of this feature before. Unchecking it seems to have solved my problem.
Thanks!

Moulding "Tails"
I am using the moulding toolpath to cut bevels on some parts to a very specific angle. I am arraying the parts. The toolpath seems to have "Tails" on it where the tool cuts over the top of the part at zero depth for a few passes, cuts down the bevel, and finishes with a few passes at the bottom of t...

Re: Profile Toolpath Tab Reference Location Clarification
I am a bit late to this discussion, but I am with the original poster of this thread. The tab bottom should be the lesser of the material thickness and the depth of cut. If you want to cut through the material you have to cut to a depth slightly greater than the thickness, but this leaves you guessi...

Re: Tabs in tight object arrays
Yes, the individual part is 2" x 2". Thanks, tomgardiner. Your trick worked a charm. I can set the tabs on one part and then array it and keep the tabs where they were placed on the single part. Now all I need is some direction on how small the "web" of wood can be around an array and if parts can b...

Tabs in tight object arrays
I have to cut out two different sets of 70 objects that fit into a 2" x 2" space. I can get good layout density with seven rows of 10 parts on 1/4" plywood. The problem is holding the parts in the stock during cutting. We have used double sided tape, put that tends to creep with a lot of milling. Ta...

Re: Simple way to change a shape to something 3/16" bigger?
I am using an engraving tool path to make a roundover/chamfer on a previously cut profile. An engraving when cut in wood leaves a lovely serif that is sharp at the end, instead of a rounded end if you use a roundover bit and a profile path. The problem with the engraving is that the outer edge of th...

Simple way to change a shape to something 3/16" bigger?
I want to create a new tool path that is 3/16" outside of curved shape made out of four arcs. I could draw a new set of arcs around the 5 shapes I already have, but this seems like it should be easy for Vectric to do since it has to do this when offsets are requested. Is this possible? Any reason th...

Re: Using V-Carve Engraving Toolpath w/o flat area clearance
Well, I figured out half the problem. Since Flat Area Clearance produces it own tool path, I can ignore it and end up with just the engraving tool path. However, the engraved path puts the edge of the V-bit chamfer at the edge of the previous profile cut, leaving no chamfer except in the "serif." So...

Using V-Carve Engraving Toolpath w/o flat area clearance
The effect I am trying to achieve is to get the rising serif cut of the Engraving Tool without doing the flat area clearance. I want to put a chamfer or roundover on the edge of a through-cut that includes two converging arcs. The convergence produces a space too small for the router bit to clear ou...

Re: Can the cut depth be varied on a line as it crosses boar
The fluting trick worked a treat! I just had to figure out how to make the other end of the curve the start, but I found that in the Help. Thanks for the tip!

Can the cut depth be varied on a line as it crosses board?
I have a complex cutting that I would like to have "fade" out as it gets to the center of the pattern, giving a feel of depth. The cuts will be with a 60 Degree V-bit. My thought was to have the cut depth reduce as it gets closer to a point on the pattern that is to be seen as farther away. Can V-Ca...
