Re: Cutting text

I will try to get it right when I am setting the z-zero and placing the machine no the bed to see if that corrects the bit from being dragged across the project. Thank you

Re: Cutting text

I will return later. I don't know how to share files yet, I'll have to ask my granddaughter to see if she can teach me.

Re: Cutting text

The file isn't very large and the dragging of the bit happens at the beginning of the file. I can't speak to the Z axis because I believe that I have all of the parameters set properly. Is there a way to correct this issue. Thinking I can run the router down all the way to the bed until it bottoms o...

Cutting text

I'm having a problem with writing text. The bit will drag across my project from letter to letter. it comes up but not all of the way out of the letter. I believe that I have adjusted the distance above the project correctly but it sill drags. I need some help in trying to fix this problem.

Re: Not an even cut

First off I don't have the equipment to shave off .001 of the spoilboard. I will got on face book and looks at some of the ways that on there. Maybe I'll just place a couple of sheets of paper under the low side of the material and lift it, hopefully that will level it enough.

Re: Not an even cut

1. I'm using a diamond tipped bit at a depth of .001. As I said I get only a partial etch on the glass. 2. How do I level the "spoilboard"? I haven't seen or heard about this adjustment. Please enlighten me as to how to level my "spoilboard". 3. I'm very meticulous about tightening my bits so I don'...

Not an even cut

While etching glass I discovered something unusual. I am not cutting on an even plain. For instance, On a piece of glass I was trying to etch the capital letter "R". on the first attempt the only thing that was etched was the slanted part of the R. If it was even all the way across the letter it wou...

Re: First test run

Thanks for the reply. I discovered that I was supposed to designate my 0:0,0:0 prior to turning on the machine. This is a learning experience after all.

toolpaths

I'm new to this so please be patient with me. First: I'm trying to make a simple sign using and engraving tool path. WhenI run it, it cuts out the first letter great, but that is where the problem begins. When the router goes to the subsequent letters the tool doesn't make contact with the material ...

First test run

Ran my CNC Piranha for the first time. Confused: When the machine started running, instead of starting at 0.0:0.0 on the bed it started in the lower right quadrant. Is that normal or how do I correct it to the center of the bed?

Re: The New Map Thread - Show us where you are in the world

Posting my reply to getting listed on the map. I am in Chula MO and looking for someone nearby to confer with and set up a give and take relationship around the CNC machining experience.

Getting started

I have purchased a CNC Piranha about 2 years ago. I kept it clean and under wraps until I could dedicate my time to learning about its use. I recently purchased "Cut2D Desktop" in order to start my journey in learning how to use this machine. I designed a simple sign and saved it according to the tu...
