Thanks Litzluth
That sound good advice
I was thinking of using a 0.5mm endmill which is almost equivalent to the one you recommend.
I would be very interested in seeing some of your work .

Re: Profile Cutting Abalone
Hi Rcnewcomb
A quick look at the cutting speeds and feeds in the article you kindly referred me to....
They appear, on my first glance, to be a bit too brutal to me, I always just take very light cuts.
However, this is very encouraging !

Profile Cutting Abalone
Hi
I am considering using very thin Abalone sheet (around 0.2 mm thick) as a decorative inlay
The material is a little expensive
Has anyone any experience profile cutting this material?

Machining the tapered sides of a segmented bowl
Hi, I am planning making a wooden bowl assembled from 12 side sections and a base The side sections will be trapezoidal in shape. I am wondering if it is possible to profile the side sections incorporating the joint angle, as one process, or would it be better to profile the sections then, as a seco...

Thanks Mr Fixit
For some inexplicit reason it would appear that I was forgetting to employ the "trace" button
I can only put this down to a very large case of "Senior Moments".
Thanks again

Re: Copying Symbols from Internet
Thanks Fixit,
I have just used the term "Vector Chinese Zodiac Symbols" and the result is similar....
I obtain the symbols but they are within a pink dotted rectangle that stops me manipulating them further
I am doing something wrong! Last week I did not have this problem

Copying Symbols from Internet
Hi, I have hit the buffers ... I am designing a wall decoration and require various Chinese Zodiac symbols to be represented on it. I was progressing merrily until this morning when, for some reason, I do not appear to be able to download the various symbols I still require. I have done approx half ...

Fill parts of drawing with colour
Hi, I have read , in the past, people asking how to fill parts of a drawing with colour This morning I attempted to do the above, on a current drawing, and discovered a quite easy method. Highlight the part you wish to colour, With the vector texture tool fill the drawing with shading..... adjust th...

Re: Profile Cutting 2mm Abalone Shell Material
Thank you for your very welcomed assistance on this topic.... I have printed the topics, that you suggested, and now feel much more confident in using this natural material. I feel sure the Abalone will look far nicer, in this application, than coloured plastic sheet that I was considering as an alt...
