Re: Using moulding toolpath to taper triangles

Thanks Mike, One problem I am experiencing is that when I am using the moulding toolpath I do not appear to be able to do multiple passes (cuts) over the square containing the previously profiled triangle(s). To compensate this I only use a very small stepover. This is again very wasteful on time .....

Re: Using moulding toolpath to taper triangles

Thanks Mike, I was not too clear in my original request. I do not wish to make pyramids just a triangle shape (profiled from a piece of flat wood) then tapered so that the pointed end of the flat triangle is say 10mm thick and the base say 4mm thick. If I was a little more skilled at using this foru...

Using moulding toolpath to taper triangles

Hi Everybody, Recently I have been profiling triangles then, using the moulding toolpath, tapering the thickness from base to apex. This method works well...but at the moment I only appear to be able to use the moulding toolpath to shape an imaginary square containing the triangle. Half the time the...

Re: Download 10.5

I had exactly the same experience
Piles of files to download so, thinking I was doing the correct thing, I also downloaded them!
Seems to me we both missed some instruction or, more likely, there was insufficient instructions.
Only an hour or two wasted

Re: ShopBot and laser module

Interesting question.
Looking at the details of the Laser module on the Vectric website .. towards the bottom of the article is a FAQ section and their it lists various machines that are compatible.
It also says something about "try before you buy"
Hope this helps

Re: Download 10.5

Hi,
Eventually, after a considerable time, I am now using 10.5
I have upgraded my Aspire software many times and I cannot remember ever having had this sort of trouble.
I must have spent an hour.. possibly more, wrestling with this upgrade.

Thanks Adrian ... sorry!

Thanks wb9tpg
What size of Laser did you choose ?
Can I just buy this Laser , plug it in and with the new Vectric laser module start producing?
Or is their more to it than that?

Bolt-on Lasers

Hi Everybody, I am asking this question again as my original posting appears to have disappeared .. at least I have great difficulty finding it. I am looking a a laser unit that I can add to my Heiz High Z CNC machine. I just wish to purchase a unit that, with the minimum of fuss, I can use in addit...

Re: Something NEW is COMING SOON - Tune in for our big reveal

Hi, With all this discussion about the up and coming "Laser Toolpath" I am very interested to know members views on "Bolt-on lasers" . I have a small, but quite substantial, German High Z CNC machine. I do wonder what would be involved in converting this machine to do both cutting and laser work. Th...

Re: Double Sided Tape for holding down work to base board

Hi Andrew .... again!
After watching the video
Is this method strong enough to withstand profiling without the use of tabs?

Double Sided Tape for holding down work to base board

Hi, For quite a number of years I have been using double sided tape to hold work pieces to a waste board when CNC machining and profiling. Recently, I have discovered that I cannot find the tape that I have used, in the past, very successfully. I normally purchase several rolls at a time ... so my "...
