Re: Wood/acrylic plaque
Thanks! I used a cheap spring loaded diamond drag bit off eBay. It works really well.

Poster frames
This was by far the most personal and gratifying project I have done. These frames were made to hang in our station in memory of my close friend and coworker who died in the line of duty almost 2 months ago now. I was honored when i was asked to make the frames and feel blessed to been able to call ...

Wood/acrylic plaque
I've been waiting for a good project to use stand off screws and a customer came to me wanting softball plaques. He said he would trust my judgement on creativity so I took the opportunity to use them. Very happy with how they turned out. Thanks for looking.

Re: Family plaque
Nice job! What brand mask did you use and did you apply the lacquer, wax then the mask? How well does it stick to wax? I've attempted masking of lacquer before, but left some pretty nasty residue behind.

Still a work in progress but happy with the results so far. The customer left the creativity and design to me but asked for mountains on it. Feel free to edit and make your own. Thanks for looking.

Re: Another edge lit
Looks good! I'm about to try my first edge lit but would like to pick your brain. What bit do you use, feeds and step over? Also, which bit and feeds are you using to cut the edge? I've ordered a diamond drag bit, which I've read creates good results. Thanks.

Re: 1911 pistol grips - first attempt
When i get to my computer I will post the file and tool paths I used to cut them. There is no undercut or two sided cutting. The checkering was done with 60 degree vbit and the 3d grips were done with .125" ballnose.

Re: 1911 pistol grips - first attempt
The actual grips are a STL file I found online. The checkered pattern was designed through v carve. When you go to create the toolpath for the checkered, you need to check the "project on 3d model" box. I believe that's the name of the box.

Mothers Day photo album
Well I decided to get an early start for once on Mothers Day gifts. These were cut out of cherry and one was purple heart, using a 60 degree vbit and .0625 endmill. The inside pages are just 110lb construction paper, which is surprisingly thick and durable. I was worried they would rip out easy but ...
