Remember Vectric has put a lot of effort writing an excellent documentation (RTFM=Read This Fantastic Manual )
Search it for "Pass Depth Control" and you'll get all necessary information regarding pass depth tolerance.

Could you please post one tap file which used to produce the expected speed setting and one with the speed issue.

You'll probably have to change the file extension from .tap to .txt before attaching it to your message.

How does your stl look when you open it with Meshlab?

Did you try using Meshlab decimation features in order to reduce the number of triangles?

It can dramatically reduce the number of triangles without perceptible alteration of the final part.

Given the effect of the mesh size in your process, this could be worth giving it a try.

How much trouble is it to move the Computer from the Machine to an Internet Connection download the Software Update then Move Computer back to machine after install/download? This way you do not have to worry about USB capabilities, etc...!
