Re: 3D Carving Times
Hello, I am surprised that nobody mentions rest machining: https://docs.vectric.com/docs/V11.5/Aspire/ENU/Help/form/Finish%20Machining%20Toolpath/index.html#e7dce7b23a3a Doug wrote: Use the largest bit possible to get the detail you want. Re: Spindle speed Following a vcarve version change
How do you control the spindle speed on your machine? It looks like you have a preset on your VFD and the previous postprocessor didn't transmit any speed command and you were happy with that constant speed. The [S]M3 now transmits the speed defined in your project, which is different and overrides ...

Re: Spindle speed Following a vcarve version change
Could you please post one tap file which used to produce the expected speed setting and one with the speed issue.
You'll probably have to change the file extension from .tap to .txt before attaching it to your message.
Double check the points Adrian mentioned.

Michael,
Searching the forum for topics including "released" will give you some additional results.

Re: Dot Halftone
Thanks for this clarification. I understand better now as the cut depth is not 17 but only 5.8mm which is quite reasonnable with a 60° v-bit. It's probably better to limit your pass depth to the maximum value the bit and the CNC can admit rather than 17mm which seems a lot. In this case, all holes r...

Re: Dot Halftone
Out of curiosity, what rpm and plunge speed did you use? What material were you engraving?
17mm pass depth with a 60° seems a lot for that machine.
TIA

Re: Arbitrary circles on Snapmaker
Same problem, same solution. See my previous post and edit your post processor or change for another one. Snapmaker is based on Marlin which uses relative mode for IJ parameters: https://marlinfw.org/docs/gcode/G002-G003.html Check the gcode you generated with Vcarve and you'll probably see it uses ...

Re: Display guide line numbers
Hi, I'm wondering if you're not simply misinterpreting the number field in the guide property dialog box. It' not a reference to a guide line numbering, but the number of guides you want to create. The select new guide checkbox (not described in help) allows you to create new guide(s) from the last ...

How does your stl look when you open it with Meshlab?

Re: Creating an STL?
Did you try using Meshlab decimation features in order to reduce the number of triangles?
It can dramatically reduce the number of triangles without perceptible alteration of the final part.
Given the effect of the mesh size in your process, this could be worth giving it a try.

Re: Lithophane
If you use a search engine, you'll quickly find free on-line and off-line solutions to generate a lithophane stl from a picture. I won't say more as it wouldn't be fair on Vectric's forum. As this feature is now easily available for free, Vectric should add it in Vcarve. IMO, it doesn't make sense c...

Cura also found a lot of issues with the supposedly fixed model, so I didn't launch the slicer as others have already made the test. Given the size of the model and considering that it wouldn't make sense printing such a model with a thick layer, a print time of more than 10 hours on a conventional ...
