Re: How to "break" a 'simulate toolpath' calculation

I just checked your file with the last Aspire trial running on a Windows 7 Vmware virtual machine on a MacBook Pro under Mojave. Recalculate all is instantaneous (ie not measurable) and simulation requires 30s at "Very High (4x slower)" simulation quality with "Animate preview" and "Draw tool" on. Y...

In your first post, you mentioned a "preview toolpath" issue, which is not the same problem. What's the actual issue?

Re: Do I need 9.5

Aspire trials are fully functional (except for generating Gcode), so why not simply give it a try?

Re: How to "break" a 'simulate toolpath' calculation

Hello,

Are your files located in a directory of the Windows virtual machine or in a shared directory on the Mac OS side? A shared directory is probably managed as a network directory by the virtual machine (at least it's the case with Vmware, I don't know for Parallels), which slows down the vm.

Re: Bad machining marks

I agree with Adrian and Ted. But the culprit could simply be the wood itself: I used to cut serial parts (2D and 3D) which were strongly hold by a specific jig and sometimes some parts simply didn't cut well. They looked like cut against the grain or with a dull bit (often partially), but the next p...

Re: Looking for engineer to turn CAD file into aspire projec

Hi, Make the whole design of all parts of the box in your 3D CAD, including joinery, all rabbets, holes, ... without any allowance. If you export a step and re-process it into Aspire (or whatever program you may use), you'll have to rework the whole process each time you'll have a modification. You ...

Re: Slice a complicated 3d STL file?

Hello, Aspire doesn't handle undercuts. That's why you get this result when importing. Every undercut is filled with material. For machining this kind of objects with 3 axis, you'll have to use a 3D CAD system in order to cut it in several parts you can machine as 2 sided jobs. You may also need 4 s...

Hello,

Your pendant shows the right size file, but much less lines than the gode file (more than 6,000). Maybe a track.

Did you check you used the right postprocessor for your machine?

Re: zoom percentage

Hello, From my point of view, display at 100% has very few interest in 3D. The only interest I see is having an idea of the actual size of the part. Sometimes useful as dimensions are not displayed in 3D. When manufacturing parts up to 5m long, I never found the right monitor to get a 100% display. ...

Re: Trouble with toolpath previews

I see now. I just looked at this sentence: "In the 3d view it shows a lot more toolpaths." and dit not look at the unexpected part of the toolpath. The 3D view doesn't indeed match the 2D view. The 3D pocket toolpath acts as a roughing toolpath, which is not bad but is not what's it's supposed to do...

and down the right side several times. There should be no need for this. This travel is not visible in the 2d view. The 2d view shows what i would expect to see for the clearance toolpath. Sorry if I was not clear. That's exactly what I explained. All these passes at different depth are not visible...

Re: Trouble with toolpath previews

Hello, Using Aspire trial V9.507, I do not see any difference. Remember 2D view is a top view, and you won't distinguish the different passes following the same path at different depth. The number of these passes depend on the depth of cut of the tool. In the 3D view, even in top view, you see all t...

Re: Issue with Design - CNC Cutting - Spindle outside bounda

Hello,

If it's the first occurence of G02 or G03 in the code, it may be an absolute/ relative issue.

See here:
https://www.cnccookbook.com/cnc-g-code- ... e-g02-g03/

See the post processor editing guide to fix it.
